Dear IS Families,
Can you believe it is May?! There is so much to celebrate as we begin our final month of the school year! We are proud of our children, grateful for the family support, and appreciative of all the work our staff has put in to make this school year happen!
May 3 through May 7 is Teacher Appreciation Week. A huge and heartfelt thank you to our teachers and staff for everything they do each day for our students! Teacher appreciation week is a special time to celebrate our teachers. And, in a year where instruction has happened in-person, virtually, and a mix of both the hard work of our educators is surely something to celebrate! Also, a huge thank you to the PTG for the special treats planned throughout the week for the IS staff!
On Monday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 4 hybrid students will take the math sections of the PSSA, with cyber students completing the math PSSA on Friday, May 7. Please have your child bring their fully charged Chromebook to school each day for testing and a water bottle.
As always, we appreciate your partnership in your child’s education and thank you for supporting our efforts.

Screenings
Our typical screening timeline for weight, height, vision, and hearing will be pushed back to a later time. Our department wants to ensure that screenings are performed in the safest way possible. If you have specific concerns about your child, please reach out to your building’s School Nurse.
Flu
Flu vaccines will be highly recommended this cold and flu season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Per the CDC, influenza vaccination will be paramount to reduce the impact of respirator illness in the population. Our department is working hard to keep our students and staff healthy and safe. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your building School Nurse with any questions or concerns!
