" Lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. "
Matthew 6:13
Today is Easter, and worldwide we celebrate our risen Lord!

Shamadan, one of the younger ELI children, sent this message from Africa to your home:   “You may be undergoing some challenges, but go before the Lord. Mention your needs to Him. The Bible says, ‘Be still and the Lord will fight for you.’” Jesus won the fight over evil and leads the way for us to follow Him each day.
You and I are that joy!  God knows your name and how you feel right now. In different ways we may be grieving the loss of something or someone. I talked with a friend who is feeling the loss of being able to visit and enjoy their grandchildren. You may be on the front lines of this battle or supporting family and friends who are. Today, more than ever, our hope in our risen Savior brings comfort and strength. Whatever you are facing today—remember the empty tomb.  Jesus is alive!
We are connected! Every day there are prayers rising to the Father for you from the children and parents in the ELI Children’s Homes in Kenya.  Women of Change are asking, “How are our partners in the USA doing?” The threat of COVID-19 is real and growing throughout Africa where healthcare is limited and there are no food pantries for backup— but thousands of people are looking to God in ways and in numbers never before imagined.  God’s Kingdom is still advancing, and our vital prayers still make a difference.

He is here!  Wherever this email finds you today, I pray that you will sense His presence.  You are the joy that Jesus gave His life to save.  On two occasions the grieving disciples had isolated themselves in a locked room, and both times Jesus suddenly appeared to them and said these powerful four words: “ Peace be with you ” (John 20:19,26). Whatever room you are in today—He is there! God’s love and life-giving presence can be trusted to deliver us today and always. Jesus’ death ultimately delivers us from evil, but it also ushers in God’s kingdom reign. How wonderful to see the reminder Jesus gave us as He ended the Lord’s prayer by declaring that God is now and forever in charge: “ For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever! Amen!
Because He lives,

Don
