Daytona Regional Chamber Takes Stand on Two Federal Issues
At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors on April 22, two position statements were approved.

The Daytona Regional Chamber supports the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act, which would create a new facility in the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) program to provide preferential capital to the nation’s small manufacturers.

The Daytona Regional Chamber opposes the Raise the Wage Act, which would overwrite the vote of Floridians who voted to pass Amendment 2 in November 2020 and put added pressure on businesses already hurting due to COVID-19, especially the hospitality industry.

For more information and background on the issues, please read the full position statements below.
Eggs & Issues to Highlight Embry-Riddle Growth
The growth and expansion of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will be the featured topic at the next Eggs & Issues on Thursday, May 13, sponsored by Halifax Health and the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Research Park, which has so far served 22 companies and generated 104 high-paying, full-time jobs, will soon gain another 10,000 square feet of production space to advance innovation and entrepreneurship in Central Florida.

The new facility – to be located on the east side of Clyde Morris Boulevard just south of Bellevue Avenue – is already fully occupied. Half of the space will support an existing Research Park innovator that is poised to expand its successful business, while the other half of the building will be devoted to Research Park operations.

University President Dr. Barry Butler will give an overview of this new facility as well as other initiatives on the horizon for the institution. Register below in Upcoming Events.
