SUZUKI MUSIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
2020 - 2021

Attention Parents of First Graders:

Typically Delaware City Schools offers an opportunity for instruction in Suzuki viola, violin, and cello to learners with a desire to develop into successful musicians starting in the first grade.  Part of this process is a screening that takes place in first grade.  Suzuki is just one aspect of the Orchestra Program in the Delaware City Schools.

The screening for this program is being paused during the 2020-2021 school year, similarly to the pause in 5th grade strings due to the pandemic.  However, Delaware City Schools is committed to our orchestra program and it is our plan to do Suzuki screening for both first and second grade students during the 2021-2022 school year.

If you have additional questions about Delaware City Schools' orchestra program, please contact Ms. Lemke at 740-833-1036 or lemkest@delawarecityschools.net.
Student Survey Coming Soon

Delaware City Schools values input from all community stakeholders including our students, as we work to improve our communication, academic programs and the overall experience for everyone.  Our commitment to supporting the social and emotional health of our students is paramount in our strategic plan and the work our staff has done over the past year.

In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we will be asking our students in grades 4-12 to provide feedback via an online survey.  The survey will cover topics including sense of belonging, student teacher relationships, learning strategies, social awareness, emotion regulation, and self efficacy.  Given the current learning environments and challenges facing our students, this feedback will provide valuable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt to meet their needs.  We are partnering with a third-party vendor (Panorama) to support us in administering these surveys and all responses will be confidential.

Please watch for a survey link from your child's teacher and encourage your child to participate. If you have any questions or concerns about this survey, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office.
