The Senate passed the  Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act   of 2020 (H.R. 7010) which provides a number of changes to the PPP. This comes after the House passed the bill last week, and the legislation will now go to the President’s desk for signature.  HR 7010 makes several changes to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), including -

  • Extending the expense forgiveness period from 8 weeks to 24 weeks
  • Reducing from 75% to 60% the amount of loan funds that must be spent on payroll to qualify for debt forgiveness
  • Allowing businesses that receive loan forgiveness under PPP to defer payroll taxes
  • Pushing back the June 30 deadline to rehire workers to December 31, 2020.
  • Provide leeway on loan forgiveness for business owners who show they could not rehire workers or reopen due to safety standards.
  • Extend the time recipients have to repay the loan.

If these changes make this loan a better opportunity for your business, Apply today with you bank. If you have questions please email Pam or call your bank.
