Dear Families,

The last few weeks of the term are some of the busiest and richest at Pine Cobble, and this year is no exception.

With June 1st ten days away, if you have not already done so, please remember to send in your child's re-enrollment contract for the 2020-2021 school year. As always, if you wish to speak with me about anything before June 1st, please don't hesitate to be in touch.

The Pine Cobble family has lived the pillars this week in so many ways, as we have supported the dear McAllister family at this very difficult time. We will continue to honor the goodness of Evan in big and small ways, and offer our love and steady support to Lauren, Becky and Steve.

With the beautiful weather this week, it finally feels like spring. I hope you have been able to get out and enjoy the fresh air and warmth of the sun. As I traveled to see more families this week, a common theme was gardening - getting ready to move seedlings outside from inside grow lights and/or shopping for what will go in families' raised beds. In fact, our Kindergarten children will soon be receiving their own raised bed made by Sue Gundrum and her husband Ry '81. Our Kindergarten team of Lynn Bizzi, Sue Gundrum, and Ashley Amsden will guide each of their students this spring and summer as they care for the seeds they will plant soon.
Our faculty continues to plan for year-end traditions like Flip Flop Day, Recognition Day and Graduation. Soon you will receive information directly from your child's teacher about our remote Flip Flop Day on June 5th, and from me and Devin about our plans for our beloved Recognition Day. The event will be remote on the 11th, followed by a special commemorative book your children will receive in early summer. Graduation, as always, will be a more intimate event, focused on our graduates, but more details will follow about how you can tune in June 12th to celebrate our eighth and ninth grade graduates.

We'll be hosting a special virtual musical event on June 4th with Cate Byrne '15, a current student at New England Conservatory in Boston. We hope you can join us as current families, faculty, board members, and alumni come together to celebrate our love for Pine Cobble and the arts. There is no ticket fee for this event, and you'll see an invitation in your inbox soon.

Thank you to families who filled out our annual survey . If you have not done so already, please take a few minutes to do so this week. Each year we learn so much from your input, and we keep the questions similar year to year, allowing us to compare data in the most productive way. A reminder that this is not the remote learning survey, but questions that give you a chance to reflect on the full year of school and all aspects of your child's experience at Pine Cobble.

I hope the long weekend offers you time to be outside and enjoy the beauty of the region.

Sincerely,

Sue
