Students earn top graduation awards
Emra Redzematovic, who will be attending Fordfham University, received the Catharinite Award. Known as t
he highest award given at graduation, the Catharinite Award is presented to the woman who embodies the mission of St. Catharine's through her character, leadership, scholarship and service. Emra was also valedictorian.
Amelia Leon, who will be attending Nyack College, received the In Her Footsteps Award. The "In Her Footsteps Award" recognizes a student who has given selflessly of her time and talents in many aspects to the St. Catharine community and whose person reflects the attributes of the founder of the Sisters of Mercy, Catherine
McAuley.
Kismet Crossdale, who is this year's salutatorian, was awarded the Alumnae Award.
The Alumnae Award, presented by the Alumni Association, recognizes school service, leadership and contributions to the spirit and growth of the community of St. Catharine Academy. She will be attending
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
