Dear Chatham Hall Community,

As a follow up to my communication yesterday regarding campus testing we had a question regarding potential expenses. After the August on campus COVID-19 testing, those tested likely received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from their insurance companies. An EOB is issued after every medical appointment or test for which there is a charge. It is NOT a bill. It is an explanation of what was charged, discounts to insurance providers, and what was already paid by insurance.

The language of the EOB will state that the insured may owe an amount. In the case of our COVID-19 tests, our processing lab has agreed to write off the $300 that is not covered by insurances. This means that there is no cost to the insured. Please DO NOT pay anything related solely to an EOB as that is not a bill.

If you have any questions or concerns related to upcoming COVID-19 testing and/or billing, please contact Director of the Health Care Center Lynne Shelton.

Esto Perpetua,
Rachel Connell
