Dear Church Family,

Thank you for your love and support during this unusual time. We appreciate your faithfulness both to God and this church.

We have a committee looking at the proper building use and safety.

We want to use this time to experiment with worshiping outside! We will use the following schedule. Worship will only be on Sundays at 11 am.
Outside worship will be on the 1st and 3rd SundaysInside worship will be on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays. Bring your own camping chair for outdoor worship. We will meet in the meditation garden. We think this will be a great worship opportunity to be in God’s creation. We will be in the back lawn and garden. The CDC is recommending that being outside is safer than being indoors. Once we see the popularity of the service, we will let you know going forward.

What we are asking of you :
•     Do not attend if you are feeling sick.
•     Do not attend if you have travelled to a “hot spot.” Do not attend if you have traveled outside the US. Wait 14 days from your traveling.
•     Masks must be worn.
•     Use Hand Sanitizer as you enter our building.
•     Have your temperature checked. Temperature must be 100.4 or lower.
•     Do not attend if you have been exposed to covid.
•     If you have been exposed to covid, do not attend for at least 14 days. Please consult with your doctor and get a test. Please let Ashley Jenkins and Lee Berry know ASAP if you are positive for the virus. We will NOT tell anyone your identity but we will inform those at worship that someone tested positive.

What we plan on doing:
•     Follow CDC, UMC, and Georgia recommendations.
•     Have a deep cleaning every week between services.
•     Ensure that social distancing is followed.
•     Train ushers to make sure social distancing is followed.
•     Create a worship service schedule that allows for both inside and outside worship. Worship will be 45 minutes.
•     No corporate singing.
•     Allowing only one person in the restroom at a time. This ensures social distancing.
•     We will have signs and clear directions.
•     Nothing will be passed. No offering plates or bulletins. We will be using a screen only until covid stops. We know that our congregation does not prefer a screen. We promise we will use our hymnals and Bibles when it is safe.

Thank you for being a great church!

Ashley Jenkins and Kemp Wright
Thank you for your continued faithfulness. With your help we have been able to continue to minister to you and our community.

Call to Worship xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Based on Psalm 9
Gathered in the name of Jesus Christ,
inspired by the Holy Spirit,
and blessed by God,
we come to worship one, holy God.

O God, our own God,
how wonderful is your name in all the earth.
Your majesty is the music of the starry skies.
yet even children of dust can sing your praises.

In the name of the Healer, the Provider and the Enabler
let your gratitude and joy be made known.
O God, our own God,
how wonderful is your name in all the earth!

All Things Bright and Beautiful

Opening Prayer
Exalted God,
You are our creator
who never forsakes us;
you are the mother
who cradles her children,
you are the teacher
patiently repeating your words for us.
We worship you.

Jesus Christ,
in you we are convinced
God loves us;
through you,
we are formed
into your people;
with you,
we serve those
the world has forgotten.
We follow you.

Holy Spirit,
you are the power
that gives us peace;
you are the wisdom
that reveals the broken
in our midst;
you are the spokesperson
to whom we are deaf.
We welcome you.
Amen.

******************* Lyrics *******************
All Things Bright and Beautiful

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flow’r that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.
The purple-headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.
God gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

God Who Stretched the Spangled Heavens

God, who stretched the spangled heavens,
infinite in time and place,
flung the suns in burning radiance
through the silent fields of space,
we, your children, in your likeness,
share inventive powers with you.
Great Creator, still creating,
show us what we yet may do.

Proudly rise our modern cities,
stately buildings row on row;
yet their windows, blank, unfeeling,
stare on canyoned streets below,
where the lonely drift unnoticed
in the city's ebb and flow,
lost to purpose and to meaning,
scarcely caring where they go.

We have conquered worlds undreamed of
since the childhood of our race;
known the ecstasy of winging
through uncharted realms of space;
probed the secrets of the atom,
yielding unimagined power,
facing us with life's destruction
or our most triumphant hour.

As each far horizon beckons,
may it challenge us anew,
children of creative purpose,
serving others, honoring you.
May our dreams prove rich with promise,
each endeavor well begun.
Great Creator, give us guidance
till our goals and yours are one.

New Book Study for June
B ook S tudy with Barb

Join us  Monday, June 8 , as we continue our Book Study with Barb on Adam Hamilton’s book, Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times. We’ll meet up on Zoom at 7:00. The link is below. Here is a little of what we’ll be talking about:
  •            Everyone worries about something
  •       Facing our fears and staring down our giants
  •            How fear may be shaping the lives, and the life, of our congregation

If you have not yet received a copy of the book and would like one, give me a call and I’ll deliver it to your front door or mailbox. But you don’t need to have the book to follow along with the study. We can all relate to fear, especially in today’s world of pandemic and violence.

Each week is stand-alone, so if you can’t join us one week, be sure to catch us the following week. We’ll be meeting each of the five Monday evenings throughout the month of June. I look forward to seeing you then.
Blessings, Barb

Be Counted! Complete the 2020 Census

The census asks every household to answer nine questions . These questions are: how many people live in the house or apartment, whether the property is owned or rented, phone number, name, sex, and then a few questions about the age, race, and ethnicity of each person. The answers to these questions are used to help enforce anti-discrimination laws, set federal funding levels, and much more.

  • Census data is used to figure out how much money programs and state/local governments will get from the Federal Government to pay for certain services.
  • Police departments, and town and city planners are among many public-sector entities who count on these annual results to plan services and policies: from building roads and power plants to attracting jobs and planning emergency evacuations.
  • An accurate census count of all the vibrant and diverse neighborhoods in our country brings critical funding and resources to our schools and communities.
