April 27, 2020
Dear Faculty and Staff,

In recognition of the unique circumstances and stress this semester has placed on everyone, Pace University is extending the deadline for two important grading options for this semester—withdrawal from courses and pass/fail grading. These options are intended to provide some measure of relief for the Pace Community. We have reminded students to reach out to their instructors, academic advisors, and the Financial Aid Office to determine what choices are the most appropriate for them. We have reminded the students that withdrawing from a course may result in financial aid changes. We ask that you provide students with as much information as possible about their academic standing so they can make the most informed decision possible.

  • Withdrawal deadline: You may request withdrawal from your class(es) until 11:59 p.m. on May 16. This is the last day of the semester.
  • Selecting pass/fail: You may request a pass/fail option for your class(es) until 11:59 p.m. on May 26. This is 10 days after the last day of the semester.
  • De-selecting pass/fail: You may rescind your pass/fail request until 11:59 p.m. on May 26.
  • For students who have already requested pass/fail and wish to rescind that pass/fail request, they may do so until 11:59 p.m. on May 26.
  • Transcripts for this spring semester will be annotated with a statement about the COVID-19 pandemic.

We hope this provides you with an additional measure of reassurance about how best to wrap up the Spring 2020 semester. We appreciate all of your efforts to help our students and our community navigate this challenging public health crisis.

We hope for your good health and a smooth finish to our spring semester.
Sincerely,
