RETREAT UPDATE & MORE
Although we have to keep our distance
WE'RE HERE FOR YOU!
To our Caring Connections families,

In an effort to do everything we can to protect the health and safety of all cancer patients and survivors the Caring Connections program has sadly made the decision to postpone the Annual Retreat to the Spring of 2021. We hope that when we do gather next spring that the Retreat will be an extraordinary experience for all. Please know we are going to try in every way to provide you with continued connection, education and wellness opportunities throughout the year until we can safely come together in a big way.

Click on the video below to learn more from our CEO, Diane Dickerson and Catie Reed of the Caring Connections program.
In an effort to continue to support our Caring Connections families we will still be offering online options for support and social connection. Here are just a few of the things we will be doing:

  • Virtual networking and support meetings
  • Offering virtual opportunities to learn about a variety of health and wellness related topics
  • Available for community navigation by phone
  • Available to assist people with the breast and cervical health screening program

Remember that the best path is to stay informed on the facts which are being updated on a regular basis. Below are a list of reliable sources of information for you to read from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the State of Maine.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Caring Connections at the Bangor Region YMCA if you have any questions. And, don’t hesitate reaching out to me directly via email. It is important to me to hear from you. Please know that this decision was not an easy one, however, the health and safety of those we serve are of the utmost importance. Our decision to postpone the retreat was made with respect, thoughtfulness, compassion, wisdom, and a passionate desire to do what is best for this wonderful community we serve. We know that the Retreat come spring will be the best that it can be. Continue to see what we are trying to offer through our website and Facebook.

Sincerely,
Catie Reed
