Greetings Madison Community,
I am writing this message as a parent, a compassionate educator, and more importantly, as someone that cares deeply about the well-being of all children. As in the past, and particularly now during this time of uncertainty, my goal remains the same in providing care and support for our Madison families, which extends far beyond the walls of the traditional school setting. Please don’t ever feel that you are alone, as we are all leaning on one another to nurture our cherished youth and provide support in multiple ways.
We know that during these times, children may internalize the additional stressors of this pandemic and act on this stress in many ways. With the added complexities that come along with adolescent development, we want to be supportive in helping our children cope and process the feelings and emotions that may lead to moments of uncertainty, anxiety, or fear of the unknown. Please reassure our youth that the feelings they are experiencing are normal; they are not alone. If missing traditional education is causing added emotional stress, just remember, school is important, but so is your health and the health of your child. To our students, no matter what has happened this school year, you should be proud of yourself, your resilience, and your ability to adapt to extreme circumstances. We want you to know that we see your strength and brilliance, and while we are not in the same physical space of our buildings, you are not on this journey alone.
It is my honor and privilege to serve the students and families of Madison. Our community thrives when we partner together. Please know that I am here with you and for you.
