Head of School COVID Update

Dear Heilicher Parents:

Shalom and thank you, in advance, for checking out all of our important school announcements in Roar. As we receive news regarding the rising cases of COVID around the state and country, we are currently considering our next steps, regarding the resumption of in-person learning next week.

We will communicate tonight or by noon tomorrow whether or not there is a change in our plan to hold school in-person next week. Thank you for your patience and you will hear from me shortly.

A Message from our Annual Fund Chairs and 1:1 Match Incentive!

Check out this new video from Annual Fund Parent Co-Chairs Michael Zis and Deb Olkon, encouraging everyone to support the Heilicher Annual Fund. We very much appreciate their volunteer leadership of our campaign.

REMINDER! Community supporters Mort and Merle Kane have offered a 1:1 match, up to $10,000, on all online donations made between
November 1-19. Donations made on the Heilicher website or the GiveMN site both count toward this generous match.

The Annual Fund is a critical piece of keeping Heilicher strong and vibrant. The dollars raised help make up the difference between tuition and the full cost of a Heilicher education, and support programs and initiatives throughout the school. We have already raised almost $400,000, and look forward to continued success!

Any questions, or would you like to discuss your gift confidentially? Please contact Institutional Advancement Director, Beckie Skelton.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
Special Grandparent Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday, November 20

Calling all Heilicher grandparents and special friends! Please join us for a special, all-school, online Grandparent Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday, November 20, at 11:10 a.m.

The Zoom link to participate is here:

We look forward to debuting a special, grandparent-focused video showcasing daily life at Heilicher during this unusual year, and offering a special blessing to our beloved grandparents.

We have sent an email directly to all grandparents who are on our email list. However, please feel free to share this information with them, as well. If you'd like to add grandparents to our mail/email lists, so they can hear about these special programs in the future, please email their contact information to Beckie Skelton
Please Share the Heilicher Pride by Posting on Social Media or Calling Prospective Parents!

We need your help! Heilicher is now accepting applications K-8 for Fall 2021. Our $0 application fee special runs through November 27. Please help us spread the word or contact Louise Schoenberger with specific questions or leads. We already have 20 applications for K and we are hoping to get to 25 by November 27.
Cooking with Chef Liz

Video

Looking for some new dishes to serve at Thanksgiving? Join our very own Chef Liz and her daughter, Heilicher kindergarten student Francesca, for a cooking demonstration of Cranberry Walnut Cake Bread and Sweet Potato Hummus.

Watch the video and try the recipes for yourself. Enjoy!
Library Book Requests

We are happy to share that Heilicher students will soon be able to check out library books. For the 2020-21 school year, books will be circulated on a request-only basis using individual library accounts. Unfortunately, in-person visits will not occur.

Beginning the week of November 16, teachers will be going over the log-on and request process with their students. As requests are filled, books will be delivered to your student's classroom. This is expected to take 3-5 on-site school days.

Please review this Library Use Agreement, as allowing your student to check out books indicates that you agree to its terms. If you would like to opt-out of this agreement, please email Diane Greenberger to indicate this and we will suspend your child's library account until further notice.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to get the library up and running.
Condolences

Condolences to Heilicher parent, Judith Levitan, and her children Sadie and Eliza, on the passing of Judith's father, Leonard Levitan.
