Governor Announces Plan to Reopen for West Virginia

Below is the outline for West Virginia to get back to business and in the workplace over a six week timespan. The clock will begin when the state has completed 3 consecutive days with a cumulative percentage of positive tests below 3%. Today, that number in the state is 2.47%. Governor Justice had asked our hospitals for a written plan to begin elective surgeries this week. He is also advocating for the testing of all daycare workers. It is anticipated that daycare centers will see an increase in the number of children attending or they will be reopening. An increase is expected when 11,000 healthcare workers return to the hospitals.

There are some very specific items the retail industry will be looking at as businesses open back up in the coming weeks or expand occupancy. Our board and members will be providing input to the association as we develop a list of critical items for employers, employees and our customers.
