We have received lots of feedback about our "Quick Pick" program. Mostly, it goes something like this... "We love buying the Quick Pick packs because it gets us to try wines we wouldn't otherwise buy, and we find that we really like them!"

For QP21, we have taken this into account, and made sure to include several beauties that are clearly from off the beaten path, including a Claret style red from Portugal, a Zweigelt/Blaufrankisch Rosé from Austria and a Pinot Noir from Tasmania.

We pair these unusual wines with an "absolutely gorgeous" Chianti Classico, a "beautifully layered" Zinfandel from California and more. In total - hailing from California, Washington, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Austria and Australia - there are six reds, four whites, one Rosé and one really cool sparkling wine.

Scroll down for the tasting notes on all twelve of these wonderful wines, then click on the Big Yellow Button to order the pack. If you are buying it as a gift, please indicate on your order and we'll put a copy of the tasting notes in the box!

Each pack contains all twelve of these very delicious wines:

Montesecondo
Chianti Classico 2018
94/100 - Vinous, Antonio Galloni (8/2020) "The 2018 Chianti Classico is absolutely gorgeous. Black cherry, tobacco, spice and leather bring out the darker side of Sangiovese. Bold and dramatic in the glass, with striking depth as well as translucency, the 2018 is a winner. I loved it. Drinking window: 2022 - 2033." (Italy)

Bedrock Wine Co.
"Old Vine" California Zinfandel 2019
92/100 - Vinous, Antonio Galloni (1/2021) "The 2019 Zinfandel Old Vine is gorgeous. Bright acids and floral overtones perk up the red berry fruit in a Zinfandel that delivers the goods, and plenty more. Bright and beautifully layered, the 2019 hits all the right notes. Then again, it is a blend of stellar sites, including Bedrock, Nervo, Sodini, Evangelho, Katushas', Teldeschi, Pagani Ranch and Old Hill. Because of the COVID pandemic and uncertain short-term economic outlook, the 2019 includes quite a bit of wine that in more normal times would he bottled in the vineyard designates. Stated simply: buy as much as you can. Drinking window: 2021 - 2027." (California)

Evodia
Calatayud Garnacha 2019
93/100 - Jeb Dunnuck (3/22/2021)
90+/100 - Wine Advocate (4/30/2020) "The 2019 Evodia is pure Garnacha from old head-pruned vines in the Sierra Santa Cruz in Calatayud. It fermented with around 20% full clusters in concrete and matured mostly in concrete with just 20% of the blend put in used oak barrels for three months. There is a component that matured in concrete egg that I was able to taste separately that seems to bring a touch of freshness to the final blend, something welcomed in a warm year like 2019, which seems like a fresher version of 2017, when the wines achieved quite good ripeness. The nose opens up nicely in the glass and is quite aromatic and floral, exuberant, with a heady touch of ripe fruit. It's young and tasty, tender and pleasant to drink, with a forward personality. A real bargain. I hope there are more wines like this in Aragon, where the wealth of Garnacha vineyards would make it possible quite easily. 150,000 bottles produced. There are two batches per year. What I tasted had been bottled in February 2020, just a few days before I sampled it. Drink Date 2020 - 2024." (Spain)

Luke
Wahluke Slope Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
92/100 - Wine Enthusiast (12/31/2020)
90/100 - Vinous, Stephen Tanzer (10/2020) "Bright, dark ruby-red. Musky scents of black raspberry, cassis, dark chocolate and brown spices are accented by flowers and minty herbs. Richer, fuller and sweeter than the Companion blend, with its plusher texture giving it more early accessibility. Here, too, the tannins are suave and seamless. Lovely breadth and palate presence here, and no rough edges, even if the Merlot is a bit sweeter. Incidentally, the talented Peter Devison serves as consulting winemaker for LUKE Wines. Drinking window: 2020 - 2026." (Washington)

Mateus Nicolau de Almeida
"O Clarete: O Tinto Perfeito" Douro Red 2019
90+/100 - Our Score (6/2021) "O Clarete: O Tinto Perfeito" is an homage to the historic Claret style of Bordeaux, where big, thunderous grape varieties are treated gently to make a lighter, fresher iteration of red wine. Looking to make a delicious gastronomic wine that you can bring to just about any dinner table to pair with just about anything, Mateus Nicolau de Almeida has delivered in a big way. Utilizing traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley, including 15% white grapes, he has crafted a wine with bracing notes of blackberry, plum, dark cherry, fennel and a hint of mint. The energetic palate is highlighted by juicy acidity that allows for perfect pairing with a bevy of meats and vegetables. This is a great interpretation of the Douro Valley through an exciting new lens. (Portugal)

Devil's Corner
Tasmania Pinot Noir 2019
This has more weight and guts than we expected. Bright, old-world energy and tangy red fruit too. Yum!
91/100 - Our Score (5/2021)
92/100 - Wine Enthusiast (5/1/2021) "This distinctly Tassie Pinot offers a bouncy red cherry tone in the fore backed by hints of cinnamon and earthy spice. The palate is medium in weight, lifted by tart cranberry fruit and crunchy acidity. Silky tannins allow the fruit to shine brightly through the gaps." (Australia)

Michel Gassier
"Nostre Païs" Costières de Nîmes Blanc 2018
If you ever have the opportunity to meet Michel Gassier, make sure to ask him to explain the symbolism embedded in the Nostre Païs label. It goes deep into the culture and pride of his beloved Costières de Nîmes home. Interestingly, Michel lived in the Chicago area for a few years before moving home to take over, and completely transform, his father's winery!
91/100 - Wine Spectator (2/28/2021)
92/100 - Jeb Dunnuck (8/16/2019) "Coming all from the estate Bec Vineyard, located in the cool, southern part of the appellation, the 2018 Costieres De Nimes Nostre Pais Blanc checks in as a mix of 45% Grenache Blanc, 20% Roussanne, 20% Clairette, and the rest Viognier and Bourboulenc, raised in old barrels and concrete tank. Readers looking for a superb white to drink over the coming 2-3 years should snatch this up. It offers terrific notes of white peach, rose petal, crushed citrus, and spice. With a touch of White Burgundy class, medium body, beautiful freshness, and a great finish, it way over-delivers. Don't miss it. Maturity: 2019 - 2022." (France)

Dry Creek Vineyard
"Fumé Blanc" Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Founded nearly 50 years ago by Dave Stare and now run by his daughter Kim, Dry Creek is one of the original wineries of Sonoma. We've known and been customers of the Stares for well over 30 of those years and are thrilled to see them getting such great accolades for this classic bottling!
92/100 - Wine Spectator (6/30/2021) "Fresh and effusive, with lemongrass, lemon verbena and fresh ginger notes to complement the core of juicy lemon-lime, green apple and ruby grapefruit flavors. Juicy and mouthwatering on the vibrant finish. Drink now." (California)

Cantina Jasci
"Atilia" Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 2020 (1.0 liter)
90/100 - Our Score (7/2021) This lovely liter tastes like a Mediterranean beach has been captured in a bottle. Coming from the rolling hills of Italy's Abruzzo region, the medium-bodied "Atilia" Trebbiano from Cantina Jasci fits a wildly popular niche for us: delicious one-liter porch pounders. Soft lemon curd, freshly sliced Granny Smith apple, white flowers and a touch of salinity all show wonderfully on this bright and refreshing Italian white. Meet your new favorite picnic or beach wine!

Chamisal Vineyards
Monterey County Chardonnay 2017
91/100 - Our Score (7/2021)
91/100 - Wine Advocate (2/6/2020) "The 2017 Chardonnay Monterey County opens with notes of gunflint and toast over baked apples, yellow pears, popcorn and a tropical tinge. The palate is medium-bodied and rounded with an uber spicy, fresh fruit profile lifted by mouthwatering acidity, and it finishes long and toasty. This has an appealing yin-yang of savory and bright citrus character. Drink Date: 2020 - 2023." (California)

Judith Beck
"Beck Pink" Burgenland Rosé 2020
90/100 - Our Score (7/2021) Austrian natural winemaker Judith Beck bottles fantastic wines that give "neu energy" AND uber yummy fruit. Her philosophy is: "I seriously believe in this low-intervention winemaking and I am going to continue like that. For me this is not about a trend, but a deeply-held commitment." The Beck Pink blends 85% Zweigelt with 15% Blaufrankisch and drinks with gorgeous vibrancy. Look for wild red berries, herbs and minerals. This is so tasty! (Austria)

Montalbera
"Cuvée Rosé" Brut NV
89/100 - Our Score (5/2021) We are a fan of "off the beaten path" sparklers, and this one is really cool. The Grignolino grape is most often used to make wonderfully light and easy-drinking reds. For this wine, Montalbera has turned it into a dry sparkling Rosé that is loads of fun! Fresh watermelon, strawberry, peach and cherry blossoms combine with subtle hints of savory spice to make for a unique, lighter-bodied bubbly that is perfect for brunch, lunch or all on its own! (Italy)
