High Five! Recipients for March Announced!
|
Congratulations to Ms. Angela Wong (pictured below), Band Teacher for both Chute Middle School and Oakton Elementary School, in being selected as one of the recipients to receive this month’s High Five! Celebrating Excellence in District 65 award! Ms. Wong has served our community for a year and was nominated by a D65 family member who shared in part that, “[Chute Middle School] was able to hold a fall concert from remote locations using special software that she taught the students to use. Not only was my son able to hear himself playing in a band (complete with video of him and his bandmates playing from their respective homes), but we could share the concert with other sheltering in-place family members. My father-in-law was able to hear his grandson play in a concert before he died all because of Ms. Wong's commitment and creativity. I know from other parents that she has had a similar impact on other Oakton and Chute families." Thank you, Ms. Wong, for undeniably creating an impact on the students and families you serve! Angela will receive a $100 gift card from sponsorship provided by Byline Bank, a framed recognition certificate, and will be recognized at the next regular school board meeting on Monday, March 22.
