To date, DEMA Show 2020 is still scheduled for November 4-7 in New Orleans, LA. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, we understand the concerns of exhibitors and attendees. It is DEMA's goal to do what is best for the industry and to continue providing services to our Members.

To that end, all remaining DEMA Show liability payment deadlines have been extended by the DEMA Board of Directors. The 60% liability deadline for DEMA Show 2020 has been extended further to June 15, 2020. The 100% liability deadline will also be extended, with the final date to be determined by the DEMA Board.

We are closely monitoring our New Orleans information sources to bring the most up to date facts to you regarding hosting events there. Regarding the recommendations provided by New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell on April 14, DEMA has reached out to our sources in New Orleans for clarification. It is our current understanding that these comments were recommendations regarding several large city-wide festivals rather than an executive order for all 2020 events. DEMA will continue to monitor the situation and will advise our members and the industry as additional decisions are made about the staging of the Show.

We sincerely hope these extensions provide some breathing space for exhibitors as the outbreak impacts their business operations and decisions for moving forward are determined.
On April 24, 2020, President Trump signed the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, providing new funding for the U.S. SBA's Paycheck Protection Program. The Act increases funding for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) from $349 billion to $659 billion and funding for Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) grants from $10 billion to $20 billion.

If you need help navigating the CARES Act's programs, check out DEMA's latest webinars where you can gain insight about application requirements, eligibility, program terms and more.

During this time, it is critical that you are continuously communicating about your operation, talking about diving, and generally keeping customers and local divers engaged.

Diver survey
DEMA has launched its most recent Diver Online Survey with the goal of updating demographics and psychographics of divers everywhere. DEMA is asking all professionals in the industry to help by requesting that their U.S. and international customers participate.

This is a great opportunity to keep your diving clientele engaged when "social distancing" may be keeping them out of the water. Help us obtain responses by sharing the following link with your customers: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DEMADiverSurvey2019
We'd love to be able to share your positive advice, best practices, and experiences with other Members of the industry to help us get through this together. Share with us what you are doing to help your business succeed during this crisis so we can share with others.
