Q:
One of the optional insurance products available thru my membership in NSEF is called “’Optional-Accidental Death and Dismemberment’ insurance, can you tell me what this coverage, and what is the limit of coverage?
A:
The Optional – Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance option provides an additional $50,000 that includes limited benefits for Fracture and Dental arising from equine related activities. If the event of a loss the amount payable depends on the injury sustained and is either a multiple of the Principal Sum or a portion of the Principal Sum. Since equine activities carry a significant level of risk, this policy offers extra financial protection which can be used to pay for injury-related expenses. This policy is in force 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and covers you anywhere in the world while participating in or travelling to/from an equine activity.
The Optional AD&D policy provided does NOT cover, loss of income or wages, partial disability, fracture injuries or dental injuries, short or long term disability benefits and is limited to individual members who are under the age of 75 years.
