WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN COMING TO THE LIBRARY STARTING JULY 6

These plans are subject to any new or additional state mandates that may arise and cause us to modify our plans or policies.

-Starting July 6th - resume normal business hours.
-Curbside pickup is still available and encouraged.

Coming Inside the Library

-Open for "Grab-n-Go" style visits. This means a quick browse and exiting immediately upon checkout. Quick visits will limit the number of people in the building at once.

-No toys, playthings, train, or puzzles out for use.

-No programs, meeting rooms, or storytime room.

-Friends store is temporarily closed. No donations accepted.

-No puzzle exchange table.

-No seating inside the library available.

Computer Use

All computer use will be by appointment only for a 30 minute time limit. Appointments must be scheduled by phone: 248-846-6550.

Printing: Just need something printed? We can do that for you! Call the reference desk at 248-846-6554 for details.

State of Michigan Safety Guidelines

The library must follow state guidelines for retail, libraries and museums. These guidelines include the following protocols:

-Social distance from others. Markings on the floor will indicate where to stand for checkout. Please wait your turn to go in aisles if someone is already there.

-Signage will indicate that face coverings are required.

-Plexiglas dividers at checkout desk and reference desk.

-Sanitizer will be stationed near the front of the library.

Returning Materials

- Must use outside dropbox only. Do not bring any materials into the library for return (even if you have a question or concern about the item).

-All materials are quarantined for 3 days before they are checked in and returned to the shelf.

Note About Overdue Fines: You may incur a temporary fine on your account that will be removed after several days. This is due to the quarantine of materials. We are doing our best to be safe and remove inappropriate fines. If you find fines on your account that should not be there, please wait 3 days before contacting us.

Inter-Library Loans

Starting July 6th, most of the libraries in The Library Network catalog will be participating in the inter-library loan delivery system. If there is an item that will not allow you to place a hold on it, please contact the reference desk and we will do our best to assist you.

MeL Statewide Borrowing: MeL interloans are not currently available. The start date for MeL loans is TBA.

Future Plans

All future plans are TBA. Further re-opening of services and areas of the library are subject to state guidelines and CDC recommendations.
CURBSIDE SERVICE IS STILL OPEN AND ENCOURAGED!
CALL OR ORDER ONLINE, THEN CALL US WHEN YOU GET HERE AND WE'LL BRING YOUR ITEMS TO AN OUTSIDE TABLE.

OBTAINING LIBRARY MATERIALS:

1. Order your library materials through our online catalog or call us.
    Online Order :   Search the catalog  and ord er with your library card number and PIN (if you have never used your PIN, try 1234 or last 4 digits of your phone number)
    Phone Order Call the library at 248-846-6550 during normal open hours to place order.  

2. You will be notified when your items are ready (by phone or email).

3. Call us when you arrive and we will bring the items outside to a table for you to pick up. 

RETURNS:
All returns must be placed in our outside dropbox so we can adhere to CDC guidelines. All materials will be quarantined for 3 days they can be checked out to another person.
Libby/Overdrive

If you've never heard of Libby (by Overdrive), now is the time to check it out! Download eBooks or audiobooks using your library card and your PIN. If you do not know your PIN, try 1234 or the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Now through July 31st, you can use the library version of Ancestry.com from your home! Get census records, marriage records and all kinds of other interesting information on your ancestors.

Storybook Trail - Always Open!

Are you looking for something to keep the kids busy? The outdoor storybook trail starts in the library parking lot (look for the sign) and continues around 1/3 of a mile to the park near the ball fields. The Storybook Trail features pages of a children's book posted every so often as you walk along. The path is crushed rock and is suitable for a stroller or wheelchair.

Wi-Fi Available

The Library wifi is always available. Depending on your device, you may be able to access it from our parking lot or nearby the building. The network is called "Library" and does not require a password.
