BIOGRAPHIES
Amy Nadeau
President, Baymount Management

Amy Nadeau is President of Baymount Management LP. Amy oversees the Firm’s non-investment functions and is responsible for leading the firm’s business strategy and implementation. With over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Amy is a Partner and also leads the firm’s business development and investor relations efforts. Prior to joining Baymount, Amy was the Head of Investor Relations and Business Development at River Birch Capital, a credit hedge fund, and at Tse Capital, a discretionary global macro hedge fund. Prior to that, Amy was the Product Specialist at Caxton Associates where she was responsible for communicating the firm’s market and portfolio views, as well as relationship management and asset raising. Before Caxton, Amy was an allocator to hedge funds, most recently as the global macro sector head at Cliffwater LLC, a US based alternative investments consulting firm. Previously, Amy worked at Jacobson Family Investments as Director of Investments and at Alternative Investment Management as a research analyst. Amy has also held positions with J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. She received a BA from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Amy lives in Miami with her husband and two children.

Janet Rodriguez, CFA
Portfolio Manager, EFG Asset Management

Janet Rodriguez is a Portfolio Manager at EFG Asset Management in Miami. She has over 10 years’ experience in the financial industry, working in capital markets and financial services. Prior to assuming the role of portfolio manager, Janet performed suitability analysis as a Compliance Associate. Before joining EFG, she began her career on the equities and derivatives trading desk at Bulltick Capital Markets which shaped her proficiency in multi-tasking while working under pressure. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami where she pursued a major in Finance and Operations Research along with a minor in Mathematics. Janet is a CFA charterholder and a member of both the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Miami. She serves on the 100 Women in Finance South Florida Committee. She maintains FINRA Series 7, 4 and 66 registrations.

Alexandra Valentin
Vice President, J.P. Morgan

Alexandra Valentin is a Vice President and Client Advisor in the Miami, Florida, office of J.P. Morgan Private Bank. She helps individuals, families and organizations manage wealth to achieve their ultimate objectives. Alexandra has more than 15 years of financial services experience, with concentrated expertise in investments, banking, strategic borrowing, tax management, and estate and philanthropic planning. She has a particular skill in assisting business owners, executives and entertainers with the issues most pertinent to them. Having worked with international clients since 2006, she is also extremely adept at helping Latin Americans transition to the United States. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Alexandra was a Financial Advisor with UBS International, where she created custom investment portfolios for domestic and international clients while building strong and ongoing relationships with them. She began her financial services career with United Capital Markets in Key Biscayne, Florida. Alexandra holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from ESADE in Barcelona, Spain, and earned her B.S. in Psychology and Advertising from the University of Miami. She holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, and is a licensed Florida Life, Health and Annuity agent. A lifelong tennis player and dedicated runner, Alexandra is a passionate advocate for women’s financial education. Among her many volunteer activities, she serves as a mentor and financial literacy educator for Women of Tomorrow, a member of United Way’s Women United, and a committee member for 100 Women in Finance in South Florida.

Daisy Weiss, CAIA
Director of Investor Relations, Universa Investments L.P.

Daisy Weiss has over 14 years of experience in finance, primarily in alternative investments. She is currently Director of Investor Relations at Universa Investments, an investment management firm she joined in 2010. Universa focuses on risk mitigation for institutional investors using options-based tail risk hedging. Ms. Weiss began her career in 2006 at Altegris Investments, a platform specializing in hedge funds and managed futures, where she was a Marketing Specialist. She received a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation. She has also served as a co-founder and chapter executive of the CAIA Miami Chapter and on the communications committee for 100WF while in Los Angeles.

Ilona Vega Jaramillo
Business Development, Miami Downtown Development Authority

Ilona Vega Jaramillo has been working on the Business Development team at the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) since October 2016. She is charged with engaging with companies to ensure that those which are downtown employers remain in downtown and recruit new companies to the agency’s district. Focused on building downtown Miami’s finance and tech sectors, some recent big wins include: iSquared Capital creating 50 new jobs; Softbank’s Latam Fund creating 100 new jobs; and the establishment of the east coast offices of Silicon Valley VC Fund, 500 StartUps, to name a few. Ilona travels extensively and promotes Miami’s downtown to both domestic and international investors. Before working at the Miami DDA, Ilona worked for Enterprise Florida, the state’s official economic development organization, for over 11 years. During that time, she worked closely with the state’s extensive global office network to promote the state’s assets worldwide and to support foreign companies with their establishment of Florida offices. Her clients have included: Spain-based BBVA; Chile-based Atton Hotels; Colombia-based Alpina; UK-based SAB Miller; China-based Yingli; to name a few. During her tenure at Enterprise Florida, Ilona also worked closely with US Commercial Service Officers, located in US Embassies worldwide to facilitate introductions and information related to Florida’s business environment to potential clients. She also collaborated with the state’s 67 counties to highlight the varying and diverse state attributes to a global audience. Ilona also has experience working in the private sector. From 1998-2001 she worked for Lucent Technologies as a Public Affairs Director. Her responsibilities included advocating to foreign governments for the adoption of standards compliant with Lucent products and services as well as keeping the relevant departments within the company abreast of regulatory developments directly affecting the company’s interests in specific foreign markets. Ilona lives in downtown Miami and walks to work every day; enabling her to adopt the agency’s motto of ‘live, work and play’ in Miami’s urban core. Ilona has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business from Villanova University and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University. And, she is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French and Portuguese.
