Teaching from an empty classroom to students who are sitting at home may have seemed 🛰 futuristic only a short time ago but these days it is the norm. Using technologies like 💻 Zoom and 👀 GoGuardian, teachers and students have to adapt and embrace change all in an effort to keep everyone safe and 💪 healthy.
Artist of the Week - Macy Kopp
The Artist of the Week is choir student Macy Kopp.

“I love choir because it’s so rewarding and fun to deliver a performance after working so hard to perfect it with your friends. I love that it’s not just about the individual, but the whole choir putting in the work to create something beautiful that people enjoy,” says Kopp.

“She is a “good attitude” personified. Macy elevates her classmates and inspires others to be better than they thought they could be.”-Mr Gutierrez and Mrs. Stammers.
Mathews Second Grader Learn To Be Good Citizens
Second-grade students at Mathews Elementary learned how to be good citizens, what their rights and responsibilities are, and how to be an informed voter. Students researched and the character traits of Pete the Cat and Clifford the Big Red Dog and wrote a persuasive essay for their favorite character. Students had special visitors at lunch to help persuade their votes! Once students were ready they completed voter registrations, voted, and earned their “I voted” stickers. What a fun learning experience they had!!
Nixa Thanks All Veterans For Their Service!
First graders in Courtney Nigh's class at High Pointe learned all about moons this week! They learned what the moon is made of, how it rotates on its axis, as well as orbits around the Earth. They then modeled how this worked with our own "sun", "moon", and "Earth." After seeing how the moon orbits, they learned what the eight moon phases are and discovered how the moon's placement in its orbit affects how much sunlight reflects off of the moon to create the different phases. They then created and labeled our own moon phases with Oreos!

Football District Championship Information Update
The Class 6 District 3 football game at Raymore-Peculiar is sold out. There will be NO tickets for sale at the gate in Raymore-Peculiar. We have heard that several people are going to try to go up and get tickets at the gate, but this will not be possible.

If you do not have a ticket, you have a few options for watching the game:
  1. Watch the game on MSHSAA.tv through Raymore-Peculiar's streaming. Our students could not go up and stream due to limited space in the press box and COVID-19 restrictions in the region. There is a cost to this stream.
  2. Watch the game at B&B Theaters in Ozark. Just make sure you mention Care to Learn and a portion of your concessions will go back to Care to Learn Nixa. There is a cost to this game, but you also receive a concession voucher with your ticket purchase.  Click HERE to purchase your ticket. Look for HS Football on Friday night's show listings.
