Basic irrigation for home gardeners
|
Presented by members of Trott Park Community Garden, this workshop will provide an introduction to the basic principles of home garden irrigation.
It will focus on planning aspects such as measuring water flow rate and pressure and provide information on selecting tubing, fittings, sprays, drippers and timers.
It will cover how to plan and assemble a simple irrigation system and also provide information on options available for more advanced systems.
Plants will also be available for purchase.

Learn what is involved in this alternative composting method which is small scale and the bin can even be kept in the kitchen/ pantry!
Find out which animal manures are best to use for which crops and...Then, you can direct the rest of the session with questions about how to trouble shoot the problems you may have had with your summer or winter crops and any other food growing topics important to you.

Marion Council will deliver more than 40,000 kitchen caddies for free to local households from August in a bid to cut the amount of green waste going to landfill.
You are invited to complete a short survey so we can understand how you currently use your green bin.
Residents of City of Marion are invited to complete a short survey to enable us to:
- Improve food waste recycling
- Provide the right information so our community understands how to dispose of food scraps
When you’ve completed the survey, you can enter the draw for a chance to win one of three $50 Westfield vouchers.
The survey will be open to May 23, 2021.
This $765,450 project comprises $202,500 of funding from Council and $562,950 from Green Industries SA.
The project is expected to save Council about $200,000 per year in landfill disposal costs in the long-term.

The Draft Annual Business Plan 2021/22 is now open for community consultation.
There are a number of new initiatives in the plan including an increase in $688,000 to support tree management initiatives within the City of Marion.

Round two of Green Adelaide's Grassroots Grants has launched with a total of $1 million available for people to improve their local environment across Adelaide’s 17 metro council areas.
Individuals, communities, schools and volunteers can apply for a grant between $2000 and $150,000 to create a cooler, greener, wilder and climate-resilient metropolitan Adelaide.
So, if you have an environmental project idea, Green Adelaide can help turn your idea into a reality.
