2nd Friday Book Group:  The Nest
by Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney
Join Amanda and the Second Friday Book Group with a very special guest in discussing  The Good People, by Hannah Kent. This book was highly recommended by Amanda's mother, Toby. We are hoping to have Toby join our conversation by telephone from her home in Arizona! Short-listed for the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction, and set in a lost world bound by its own laws,  The Good People is Hannah Kent's startling new novel about absolute belief and devoted love. Terrifying, thrilling and moving in equal measure, this follow-up to  Burial Rites shows an author at the height of her powers.  NWPL has copies here and through interlibrary loan. At Yankee Bookshop, get one at 15% off if you mention our book group.  (more)
*Rescheduled because of ice in January.

Come talk about what you're reading with other literature enthusiasts! Open to all, this group meets the second Tuesday of every month at NWPL in the History Room.
