Because Lutherans know lament: we cry out as the innocent suffer. To ease our anxiety and repair our brokenness we name our afflictions. We remember that the world is too dangerous for anything but truth and too small for anything but love. Listen above to Pastor Marcus and Pastor Kelsie speak this truth in great love, or read their statement here . W e are in this together. We are better together. We may be apart, but we ar e not alone.
Condemnation of White Supremacy and Racist Rhetoric
The ELCA’s social policy resolution,   "Condemnation of White Supremacy and Racist Rhetoric,”   adopted by the 2019 ELCA Churchwide Assembly, states: “As persons called to love one another as God has loved us, we therefore proclaim our commitment to speak with one voice against racism and white supremacy. We stand with those who are targets of racist ideologies and actions." On May 13, 2020, Bishop Elizabeth Eaton issued this  pastoral message  on COVID-19, racism, and white supremacy. And on May 29, 2020, the ELCA Conf. of Bishops issued  this statement  regarding the ELCA's reaffirmation of its commitment to combat white supremacy in light of so many senseless deaths of people of color in the last few months.

Because Lutherans favor intramural sports: our Gutter Masked Team is ready to take on challengers. Maybe next week's Masked Pressure Washing Team will score extra points. Team Masked Pew Repair is building a steady lead, however. Thanks to Garry M. for sharing. Also a big shout out to Richard Y. for mowing the lawn and keeping the field looking sharp. Who needs the big league sports when we have the best volunteer crew around?
Congratulations Day School Graduates!
