July 2020 Week 1 Prayers
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ. Philippians 1:9-10
A Call to Live with a Glorifying Attitude in Spiritual Discernment

"Our heavenly Father doesn’t want us living by feelings or sight, so He provides the gift of discernment—the capacity to judge situations and determine what is His best for us. Christians must have a discerning spirit in order to live in God’s will by walking in a path that brings him glory and well as blessing others with peace and joy." -Simon Ssentongo, Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau
Join us at 9:00 am US ET (New York) / 4:00 pm EAT (Kampala) today, July 1 for a prayer session led by Simon Ssentongo.

Health Systems Strengthening

The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. Proverbs 18:15

Prayers of thanks for approaches to strengthen health systems through evidence-based efforts that truly listen and love the communities they serve. Praise for the work of AMOS Health in Nicaragua, who has been working with communities to equip them to improve health for 50 years. See the CCIH Conference Session on their work and how they have made it sustainable

Praise for efforts to better understand the breadth and depth of faith-based health care. Greater knowledge of where FBOs provide care helps build partnerships, strengthens our advocacy efforts, which ultimately will strengthen FBO work and reach more people with care. See CCIH Conference session on mapping efforts.

Prayers of thanks for speakers from AMOS Health, African Mission Healthcare, The Dalton Foundation and World Council of Churches.

Prayers of thanks for the work of CURE International to treat children with disabilities and injuries; and prayers of thanks for the support and interest of Abbott in the work of faith-based organizations.
Please email Kathy.Erb@ccih.org with prayer points or for more information about the organizations mentioned.
