VIRTUAL MEET AND GREET
VIDEO CONFERENCES

Right now, we can't meet to support each other and share our stories in person.  Instead let's meet up via ZOOM and
                                     connect.

We have scheduled two weekly on-going on-line Meet & Greet meetings for the next few weeks as we all shelter in place.  The meetings will take place via Zoom video conferencing Thursdays at 3 PM and Saturdays at 11 AM.  Meetings will be facilitated by members of the Steering Committee and other volunteer hosts.  Please send a message to [email protected] if you would like to facilitate a meeting.

A reminder email with a link to the ZOOM meeting will be sent out every Monday.  We hope you'll join us.

MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS

We encourage all of our membership to share anything they come across that might be of interest to our readers.  You may share upcoming events, services, announcements, workshops, needs you may have, etc.  We have a sizable mailing list, and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to reach a large audience.  Submit your ideas to Nancy Ware at [email protected]

During these trying times, if there is anything you need, your TTN community is here for each other.

Kudos to Arete Nicholas
Many thanks to our long-standing member Arete Nicholas, R.N., M.A. Gerontology for sharing her wisdom on ways to practice self-care during the Corona virus shelter in place order.  Her presentation marked our first on-line meeting.

Here are three of the ten tips Arete shared for those who were unable to attend the call.
  • Limit news intake (and pursue other activities)
  • Exercise and stretch
  • Have a plan in case you become sick

May 11th:   Discussion: How does ageism affect us

Join the call at 6:30pm for introductions and check in, the discussion will start at 7pm

Hunker Down With a Good Mystery

TTNer Janice Wallace is finding these times are perfect for an engrossing mystery.
One of her favorite authors is Anne Perry. She writes period mysteries mostly set in Victorian England. Perry also has a series that follows a family during WW I.  What makes her stories so interesting is the depth of her research about these periods of history, the British class system and the role of women.  Lots of interesting facts are woven into the stories. Ready for an escape? Take a trip to bygone days in England.
