The Season of Easter with St. Martin's
Food Bank Needs Our Help in May

You've probably heard how much more need there is at our local food banks. People are out of work, unable to leave their homes in some cases, frightened and more. On the Saturday before Palm Sunday, you, the people of St. Martin's, contributed massively to the food bank.

Now we are seeking three volunteers for each of the five Saturdays in May to help distribute the groceries. The time will be 9:00-11:30. You can do one, some or all. Please email Marlene Ficzko at: mficzko@optonline.net to sign up.

St. Martin’s Draw and Sip

This Friday, Apr 24, at 7:00 PM

Meeting ID: 744 8373 7327

Something fun to do, even on line!

What you will need:
1.      Any kind of paper. If you have some drawing paper, printer paper, a notebook, paper shopping bag, package stuffing paper, or the back side of wrapping paper it all works.  It is very soft and hard to write on even with a marker, but you might even try one of those spare rolls of toilet paper you have been hoarding.

2.      Something to write with.  Pencil, pen, marker, crayon, charcoal from the fire pit, if it makes a mark on paper, you have it made.

3.      Refreshments.  Beverage of your choice: hot chocolate, glass of wine, apple juice, as long as it is age and health appropriate for the participant consuming it.  Some snacks are also ok.

What we will do:
1.      From an example draw bird from simple shapes, and share

2.      Draw a dinosaur using the same method and share

3.      Draw something you choose, or an suggestion from a friend, chat while we draw and share

4.      Send photos of the pictures to St. Martin’s for posting in the virtual ‘refrigerator’

Every drawing will be beautiful, by definition!
In Times of Great Need -
Great Compassion

We are grateful to announce that in this time of great need, one of the St. Martin's families has helped us be a conduit for those in need. A significant grant from their family foundation has just been made. One of the recipients will be St. Martin's School which is serving as an emergency child care center for children of essential workers. This is especially meaningful as both the school and the church had applied for the federal program to assist in payroll protection, but both were informed all the federal funds have already been distributed. This St. Martin's family said they were glad to do what they could. That's an inspiration to us all.

We are in a position to help others now because you continue to support St. Martin's even though we can't physically be there. Our new Vanco process makes contributions easier than ever, and they certainly are needed now. Just click the " Donate" button at the top of this email and it will walk you through the process that keeps St. Martin's going these days. And thanks in advance!
Online Worship
10:30 a.m. Sunday

This Sunday's Gospel is the about the evening a stranger joined two friends walking to Emmaus. They invited him to join them for dinner, and it changed everything for them.

Our online worship is short (about 35 minutes). Each session opens at 10:15a.m. so we have about 15 minutes to check-in with other. It's like a pre-service coffee hour. We sing and pray together (although each participant is muted, so you can feel free to sing at the top of your lungs!) There are two of the day's scripture readings, the Collect of the Day and the Prayers of the People and Fr. Tim offers a reflection on the readings. It's an abbreviated service, but until that wonderful day when we can join again to receive the Holy Eucharist, it is how we continue to be the Church in a season of social distancing.

Toward the end of each week the bulletin and hymns are emailed to all households registered on Instant Church.
