Wait, it’s almost the holiday season? Christmas decorations are in the stores before Halloween? Based on “it's 2020”, I completely get it! I think we all need a break from the 2020 chaos and start focusing on the important stuff, like family, friends, colleagues, and eggnog (not necessarily in that order!).

2021 seems to be a promising year. While the NorCal and SoCal Law Seminars will be held virtually, we are in fact planning a one-day event later in the year at both venues. Those events will include an educational morning, lunch, and Expo afternoon followed by a networking event that will include a casual Vision Awards ceremony. It’s too early to get into details and dates, but rest assured, we are anxious to get together as much as many of you!

We will be TRYING to hold local holiday events, but we’re also struggling with finding venues that will and can accommodate a holiday event. It might be a holiday luncheon. It might be a holiday dinner. It might be a casual outdoor happy hour. More to follow.

We had a successful High Rise and Large Scale Summit in the new CMworld virtual platform.

We are planning a Legislative Town Hall meeting for all members for early December.

We will be holding a Meet Your Board of Directors event in early January 2021.

Until we get to see you again, please know that there is always someone here at CACM if you need anything. All of this chaos in our world can also cause some internal chaos. Reach out. You’re not alone, I assure you.

Antis accepts award from Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
In its annual Hispanic Leadership Awards event in October, the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced Antis Roofing & Waterproofing as one of the recipients. This is notable for a Caucasian-owned company to be given an award typically reserved for Hispanic-owned businesses; however, nearly 90% of Antis’ employees are of Hispanic descent. The awards put particular emphasis on companies who have philanthropy and community outreach baked into their culture. Executive Officer Charles Antis accepted this year’s award during the event with an emotional tribute to the Antis team members of all ethnic backgrounds at the 30-year-old business. “It means so much to receive this now, during Hispanic Heritage Month, when we honor Latin American traditions,” Antis said. He mentioned the company’s annual Aguinaldo, an end-of-year bonus of up to one month’s salary, as one of the many sharing traditions that “we learned from Latin American culture.” The annual event was held virtually.
