Intentional sparks—a performance pour in front of the Carrie Blast Furnaces at the Festival of Combustion.
Thank you!

Before we can move on to this week's news and stories, all of us at Rivers of Steel want to express our gratitude to everyone who helped to make this year's Festival of Combustion so sucessful! Thousands of you joined us for this event that is quite unlike any other, and nearly 200 folks pitched in to make this event possible. Thank you all!

And while the Festival may be our biggest event of the year, our season is not over yet. Stop by tonight for the Scary Furnace event with Beers of the Burgh and Brew Gentlemen (discount code included below).

Industrial tours of the Carrie Blast Furnaces and guided tours of the W.A. Young & Sons Foundry and Machine Shop wrap up in mid-November, so get your tickets now. Also, there are still a few more metal arts workshops—at Carrie and at the Machine Shop. Finally, there is one more Photo Safari and one more Uniquely Pittsburgh cruise on the calendar!

Looking ahead, next month we'll begin accepting applications for Round 27 of our Mini-Grant Funding. If you help run a nonprofit or local municipality, take a moment to learn more about the program. And if you'd like to see what the program looks like in practice, read the latest in our Community Spotlight series—an article highlighting recent programs at the Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village and Fort Pitt Musuem.

That's it for today—thanks for reading!
