Presenters and honorees gathered at The Beach Club on April 30 to live stream the Annual Meeting to our Zoom audience. The meeting, sponsored by Palm Beach Island Hospice Foundation, was the last virtual event in the 77th season and reflected on the challenges and triumphs over the last year. The Wright Award, named for Civic Association Chairman and CEO Bob Wright, was presented by Dave Duffy, Civic Association Executive Committee member and Chair of the Public Safety Committee, to Fire Chief Darrel Donatto and Division Chief Sean Baker (absent for the meeting). The award was established in 2020 and recognizes individuals for outstanding leadership during a challenging time. | |

The Town Beautification Award for significantly enhancing the beauty and environment of Palm Beach through horticulture, conservation, and civic improvement was presented by Dragana Connaughton, Co-chair of the Environmental Beautification Committee to The Garden Club of Palm Beach and SMI Landscape Architecture for the funding and design of the Tidal Garden at Bradley Park. Garden Club president Mary Pressly and past president Betsy Matthews accepted the award, along with Brian Vertesch, landscape architect with SMI. | |

Retiring Mayor Gail Coniglio was recognized for her years of leadership with a gift of a telescope to “chart her next course”.

Following welcoming remarks from Chairman and CEO Bob Wright, Civic Association Treasurer Michael Ainslie reported that, with sufficient proxies to constitute a quorum, the prior year's meeting minutes had been approved. The Civic Association managed finances conservatively and finished the fiscal year in the black. Executive Committee Vice Chairman Michael Pucillo announced that the slate of Directors for the coming year had also been accepted with a sufficient number of returned proxies. | |
Mayor Danielle Moore presented her first State of the Town address which can be watched above. A gift of binoculars "to keep an eye on our Town" was presented to the Mayor by Bob Wright. | |

78th Season will Feature In Person Events | |
Plans are underway for next season’s events and forums, and we look forward to gathering in person with our members. Announcements and updates will be shared in Membership Matters as details are confirmed, and invitations and response instructions will be sent prior to each event.
Coming in December 2021 - Members Annual Holiday Party at The Breakers
Beginning January 2022 - Annual Speaker Series Luncheons including keynote programs focused on personal safety and security.
April 2022 - Annual Meeting and End of Season Celebration at The Flagler Museum
