Lynette L. Allston, from Drewryville, VA, is Chief and Chair of the Tribal Council of the Nottoway Indian Tribe of Virginia. She was announced president of the Virginia Museum of Fine Art's Board of Trustees in August 2022, becoming the first Native American person to hold this position in the 86-year history of the institution.
