Note on Exemptions for Landscape Contractors Credits
(Below is from the NCLCLB website)

  • You do not have to report Continuing Education (CEU) credits to renew your landscape contractors license for 2020-21, due to course availability complications relative to the Covid-19 virus. No CEU hours are required to renew your license for 2020-21.
  • If you took continuing education during the 2019-20 licensing year for renewal, you may use those hours for renewal next year for 2021-22.
  • For license renewal in 2021-22, you will need 7 hours of approved continuing education credit hours. In effect you only need 7 hours of approved continuing education credit hours between August 1, 2019 and July 31, 2021.

Examples:

  • You attended the Watauga County Landscape Day In October of 2019 = you don't have to get anymore credits to renew your license on July 31st of 2021. Start taking classes August 2021.
  • You did not attend the Watauga County Landscape Day October 2019 = You need to earn 7 hours of continuing ed. credit between now and July 31st of 2021, but did not need any to renew July 31st 2020.
