Important Re-Entry Information
Dear Parents,

We hope you have had the opportunity to read our campus reentry plans carefully. Most importantly, we hope the information we have shared with you—along with the multitude of additional measures we have taken to keep our students as safe as we can—will help you make a fully informed decision on how your child will begin school on August 12. I would be most grateful if you would carefully read the following:

  • We are all aware this is a fluid and fast moving situation. The next meeting to review our plans in the context of current information and guidelines about COVID-19 is July 21.
  • If there are any new division-specific developments or updates resulting from this meeting, these will be communicated by each campus leader on July 22. Please be on the lookout for any such communication.
  • Understanding the need to be adaptable, the immense planning involved on the part of St. John's, and the importance of the decision you are making, we are extending to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 24 the deadline for notifying the school if your child will be returning to school on August 12 or participating in distance learning until at least October 7.
  • All parents are required to confirm their decision via the form made available through Magnus Health no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, July 24. Forms not submitted by the deadline will impact class lists, seriously hamper teacher and division preparation, and may result in the school assigning individual students to distance learning.
  • I want to reiterate the importance of parents completing all forms required for physical return to campus. We will not allow any student to return to campus without prior and full completion of the required forms. Any student who returns to school on August 12 or after October 7 without completed forms will be sent home and may be required to stay away for an extended period.
  • Parents are reminded that if they decide their child will participate in distance learning, student and parent access to any St. John's campus is possible only with the prior permission of the division director.

In closing, I speak on behalf of my colleagues in expressing our deepest thanks to all of you, and in particular those who have taken the time to acknowledge school leadership for the work we have been continuously and tirelessly engaged in since February to respond to the unprecedented challenges presented by COVID-19. Your support is appreciated more than you know. We very much remain focused on opening school on August 12 and look forward to seeing our students and faculty again, whether in person or via technology. Go Eagles!
