May 2021
Parent and Family Orientation
We will be offering a separate Virtual Parent and Family Orientation session at the same time students will participate in a Screaming Eagles Orientation. We will use the Zoom platform for this session. This session will focus on meeting staff and faculty and answering your parent and family members questions. When students are completing their reservation form, they will be able to sign up parents and family members for their virtual orientation program. If they already completed their reservation form, they can go back to the form and make edits.

The Zoom links for these programs will be sent in confirmation emails when the reservation is complete.

Online Orientation
We encourage parents and family members to go through this online orientation. To review all of the material it will take you 2-3 hours to complete. You have the option to fill out the intake form and it will take you step by step through the content. It will remember where you left off so you can re-enter to finish at a later time. You can also enter as a guest and you will be able to go directly to the areas you want to learn about. Online Orientation works best using the Google Chrome browser.
Academic Information Sessions
Undergraduate Admissions will be hosting Academic Information Sessions via Zoom to help your family learn more about programs and the resources and opportunities available to support students in achieving their career goals.
These sessions will provide a chance to explore possibilities and learn more about areas of interest. All events will take place at 6:30 p.m. CDT using the USI Academic Info Session Zoom link. You will have the opportunity to submit questions through the Zoom chat feature. You can find a list of programs included in each event by clicking on the college's name below.

Parent and Family Tip
Encourage your student to speak up. Asking a question in a room full of strangers can be intimidating. Maybe your student is worried about asking a question other college-orientation-veterans may know, but don’t be! Virtual orientation is the time for your student to ask! Orientation leaders and staff understand this-that is what they are there for!
