October E-Notes
Greetings & Happy Autumn!

Although it's not your typical October here at WCMS, we're working slowly but surely towards a "new normal." Our administrative staff has returned to the building, some faculty members are coming in to prepare for hybrid/in-person teaching, and we continue to offer a robust schedule of online lessons and classes. You can learn more about our hybrid instruction plan here - but be assured that if you prefer remote learning, that option will continue as well. Stay safe, enjoy the fall weather, and stay musical!

Sign Up for Our Halloween Recital
We're so sorry not to be able to participate in the Halloween Horribles parade this year! We adore seeing all of the wonderful costumes and leading the parade - with music - through downtown Winchester.

Instead, we will be hosting an online Halloween recital for our student families on Thursday, October 29, at 7:00 PM for all instruments and all ages. It will be held live on Zoom. Performances in costumes are definitely encouraged (but not required). Spooky music is great but we welcome all repertoire. If you or your child would like to perform in the recital, please sign up online here!
Play 01890 Bingo to Support Local Businesses
Show your support for Winchester businesses by playing 01890 Bingo! Sponsored by the Winchester Chamber of Commerce, there are many great prizes to be won. Choose from three different Bingo cards, and then cross off a box each time you make a purchase, dine at a restaurant, or hire a local service. A completed card must have a purchase from at least one business in each column or row. More details are on the Chamber's website.
The Recording Studio is Open
Now booking appointments for the fall! The recording studio at WCMS is located adjacent to Nichols Hall, providing a spacious and comfortable environment for creating professional recordings. Recording sessions are available for anyone (not just WCMS students) and can be booked any time of year, whether you need something for a college application, an audition, or for promotion. Learn more and submit an inquiry to schedule a session.
I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks because we have been feeling grateful for music in our house this week. Since lessons restarted, our kids have been playing music together almost every evening! It’s such a wonderful experience for me as a parent and musician myself, to see them playing together, and to hear them finish a song, pump their fists (literally haha), and say "that was so fun!"
