Resolutions News
Exciting News!! Both the "Pathways Out of Poverty" and "100% Clean Energy" resolutions were adopted at Florida PTA's Leadership Convention this summer, thus enabling Florida PTA members to be stronger advocates on these very important issues.

Did you know that resolutions are the main method of developing Florida PTA's stance on issues? To find out more and read about the resolutions that Florida PTA has already adopted, please go to https://floridapta.org/resolutions/.

Making Your Voice Count on F.A.S.T. Testing
A warm welcome back from the Florida PTA Legislation Committee! Although the 2023 Florida Legislative Session will not begin until March 7, we are already hard at work preparing to advocate on behalf of the education, health, safety, and well-being of ALL of Florida’s children.

We need your help because we want the collective voice of the tens of thousands of Florida PTA members to ring out loud and clear.

We have two requests. First, please sign up for our advocacy communications tool, Voter Voice, by clicking here: https://floridapta.org/voter-voice-legislative/. Remember that you must renew your registration every year, so even if you have received action alerts in the past, you must sign up again.

Second, please respond to our flash survey on F.A.S.T testing (click here), Florida’s new state standardized progress monitoring assessments. The 2022 bill which authorized these tests, SB 1048, left many of the specifics up to the Department of Education. Testing has now begun, and we need your feedback so we can suggest PTA-driven changes to current laws and policies.

This is the first of many issues for which we will be asking you to weigh in. Don’t wait for us to ask, however. Feel free to email your legislation-related comments and concerns to legislation@floridapta.org, and we will respond as quickly as we can.

Yours in solidarity,
The Florida PTA Legislation Committee
Thank you to our Leadership Convention sponsors!
