The Big 5: Emotional Well-Being Course in Trust Academy *
Our Trust-funded providers are gigantic heroes during this pandemic! You have been lifelines for struggling families. Big heroes need big support!! That's why we created The Big 5: Questions and Tips to Support Your Emotional Well-Being During COVID-19. It is an interactive, online training that provides practical tips and strategies to help our providers build resilience and manage stress during this coronavirus crisis. The training was developed and released quickly in response to what providers asked for in the recent survey. Consider it one BIG thank you to our amazing Trust providers from UM Team COACH, Training and Implementation Associates, and The Children's Trust!

Early Childhood Lesson Plan Contest for Teachers and Students *
Calling all teachers, college and high school students of Early Childhood Education! Create a literacy focused lesson plan for ages 0-5. Select one subject from this list: (1) Storytelling (2) Out & About in the Community (3) Food & Meals (4) Music & Movement (5) Indoor & Outdoor. The contest is part of the Miami-Dade Grade Level Reading Campaign.
Include the following components: objective, age range, activities, procedures & materials, ELL & SPED accommodations, 5 senses, technology resource, virtual meeting tip, adaptations for younger or older children.
All plans must be submitted by April 30 to Danielle Barreras at
danielle@thechildrenstrust.org. Winners will receive a school readiness toolkit, an opportunity to have lesson plan published and an invitation to participate in the Miami-Dade Grade Level Ready Campaign.

Documentary of Early Childhood Education *

The Children's Trust Guidance for Trust-Funded Providers *
As a result of Miami-Dade County Public Schools announcing school closures for the rest of the school year due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Children’s Trust’s guidance for Trust-funded providers until May 31 is as follows:
- If you choose to provide services for your program participants, following CDC and local health department guidelines, and maintaining DCF ratios, The Children’s Trust will reimburse you for those services.
- If you are not able to provide services, The Children’s Trust has committed to reimbursing providers for expenses you would have incurred during this time.
- With regard to contractual obligations, please rest assured that The Children’s Trust will work with providers once we assess the full impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.
- Invoicing procedures will continue. Direct deposit payments will not be affected. Check payments will be mailed out rather than made available for pick-up. If your payment address has changed recently, please inform your program manager as soon as possible.
Please advise your program manager if you will be providing services or of any changes in your schedule as soon as possible.
The Children’s Trust will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
We appreciate your efforts to ensure the safety and health of our children and families during this critical time.

StayHome.Miami Launches to Provide Fun & Activities for Miami-Dade Families
The Children's Trust has launched
StayHome.Miami, a new website that serves as a central repository for resources to parents and the community at large during the COVID-19 crisis. This resource is full of valuable information to help families cope with the challenges they are facing right now. More importantly, it give parents and caregivers useful tips and activities to help them and their children navigate the disruptions to daily lives. StayHome.Miami will help families enjoy their time together while staying safe at home. Resources and activities include read-aloud e-books, free downloadable coloring books, and many other fun and interactive options. If you have any resources, activities, or ideas to contribute to the website, please reach out to us and let us know.

Still Time to Fill Out Census Online
If you haven't received an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census online, or have but have not yet done so, there is still time. Options to fill out the census are available online, by phone or by mail. As providers, you are in a unique position to help direct families on filling out the census and informing them that it's safe, easy and important. Remember, the individuals you serve are often those who will most benefit from an accurate census count.

Project RISE Offering YAS and YEN Providers Online After-School Activities
School is back in session… online. Children, families, teachers and providers are stepping up to the challenge of online learning. This is new to everyone! Project RISE and Reading Explorers are here to help! For those youth development providers who may want to offer online homework help, literacy help, socialization, etc., they can assist with planning and supporting the first steps to offering online after-school activities.

Inclusion: Virtual Peer Learning Groups
Join other youth development directors, supervisors, and site managers to share successes and challenges for including children with disabilities - as we are all brainstorming how to best serve children remotely. The goal is to provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and learn from one another.

Earth Day-Themed Our Community Cares Webinar *
Wednesday is Earth Day! In normal times, the planet would celebrate this milestone a little differently. But if the past few months have shown anything, it's how deeply interconnected life on the planet really is. It's more important than ever to take time to reflect on Earth Day and the work that remains to build a healthier, more sustainable planet.
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava is hosting a special Earth Day-themed Our Community Cares conversation on Wednesday at 4 p.m. to discuss lessons learned from the pandemic. Panelists include Joe Goffman, Executive Director of the Harvard University Environmental & Energy Law Program, Caroline Lewis, Founding Director of the Cleo Institute, and more. Mental Health Online Support Groups *
National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) Miami-Dade Support Groups are now available online and by phone. The groups are available in English and Spanish for either individuals with mental health conditions or for their family members/caregivers. Bilingual parents/caregivers of youth free support groups have been added on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. NAMI Basics is now available for parents/caregivers of children under the age of 21 with a mental health condition.

Primary responsibilities include: contributing to effective program and systems designs for The Children’s Trust’s priority investments in child, youth and family services; designing and maintaining sound data collection tools and systems to capture meaningful program, operational and community data in a user-friendly, accessible manner; and analyzing and making meaning from available data to tell our stories using compelling visualizations and reports with an intentional focus on the specific audience and purpose of the message.
