Reflections On 2021
The year began bright and hopeful in January with the vaccine offered to Pathway to Living residents and team members. While the path from then to today had twists and turns and uphill climbs, Pathway’s team continues to move forward with joy, compassion and determination.

Change has been a constant.
A new normal was found this year much to the delight of residents, families and team members. Residents gathered in small groups, went on outings and welcomed back visitors – all while ever-changing COVID guidelines kept team members on their toes as they navigated PPE, social distancing, group sizes and safe spaces! Thank you to all our residents and their family members for being so patient and understanding this year. We could not continue to fight COVID-19 without all of you.

Team members rose to challenges left and right.
It’s been all hands-on-deck this year due to the pandemic. Team members work long hours under challenging conditions, yet they continue to prioritize the health and happiness of our residents. We are grateful for their resilience and pleased to roll out Pathway’s new Team First initiatives to reward them for going above and beyond, offer education benefits and provide opportunities to grow as leaders and mentors.

The year was as much about giving as receiving.
Through Pathway’s signature Sharing and Caring program, our residents rose to the occasion and shared their many gifts with one another and the greater community. Acts of kindness included collecting food and toys, baking treats for shelter pets, sewing blankets and baby hats, reading to children, honoring our veterans and so much more.

Through it all, we’ve grown in many respects along the way.
Besides the strides in personal growth and wisdom the team made this year, Pathway also grew in size by welcoming 20 new senior living communities to the family. This gives even more older adults access to our award-winning VIVA! lifestyle!

Pathway’s team looks forward to an even better and brighter 2022 and to continuing our mission to help change the way society thinks about aging and senior living. Our well-designed communities, experienced management, innovative care model and award-winning life-enrichment programing perfectly position Pathway to serve older adults today and in the future.

Happy Holidays
from Pathway's Leadership Team
VIVA! is as much about giving as receiving as seen by these selfless examples of Pathway to Living residents sharing their time and talents to give back to the greater community.
Oak Hill Supportive Living residents adopted two military families for Thanksgiving! To show gratitude for their service to our country, residents collected food to donate a holiday feast for them to enjoy with their loved ones.
Victory Centre of Bartlett residents recently mailed over 40 Christmas cards to a local three-year-old who is being treated for leukemia and likes to get mail in the hopes of bringing her a little joy during a difficult time.

Bye-Bye, Mister Postman
Victory Centre of Vernon Hills residents and team members said a bittersweet farewell to our favorite postman Darrell, who has been delivering our mail since the community opened in 2012! Darrell brought countless memories and an amazing spirit whenever he walked into our building. Thank you, Darrell, and we wish you a happy retirement!

Mamma’s Kolache Recipe
Victory Centre of Vernon Hills Viva! Life Coordinator Sam made kolache cookies with residents using her mother’s traditional Polish cookie recipe. The bakers had an assembly line to roll the dough, fill the dough and wrap up the jam-filled cookies before popping them in the oven. Sam enjoyed sharing her family tradition and the delicious cookies with residents!
