16th Sunday of Ordinary Time (A) | July 19, 2020
This Sunday, like last week, Jesus offers a parable about a sower. This time the sower is planting wheat but someone comes after him and sows bad seed that grows into weeds. The sower allows both wheat and weeds to grow together until harvest time. Why would he do that? That's what I discuss in this week's reflection.

Please be attentive to the information below about changes in venue for Sunday Mass this Fall, and be on the lookout for further updates as we approach the start of the semester.

In Christ's Peace,
Deacon Matt
Due to social distancing requirements, seating in the CCM chapel will be limited to a maximum of 14 people in the pews. In order to accommodate a greater number of people Sunday Mass will be celebrated at Hillside Grind during the Fall Semester .

As students will begin moving into dorms earlier this semester, we will also begin offering Sunday Mass on campus sooner than usual.

  • On Sunday, Aug. 2, we will offer Mass at 4:00 pm in the CCM chapel.
  • On Sunday, Aug. 9, we will offer Mass at 4:00 pm either in the chapel or at Hillside Grind depending on anticipated numbers (location will be announced the week prior).
  • On Sunday, Aug. 16 and all following Sundays we will offer Mass at 4:00 pm at Hillside Grind.

Masses at Hillside Grind will be celebrated outdoors, weather permitting. Confessions will be available an hour before Mass. All Sunday Masses will be live streamed on our Facebook Page.

Weekday Mass will be offered in the chapel on Friday afternoons at 12:15 pm beginning Aug. 21. There will also be multiple times of Adoration scheduled during the week - stay tuned for further information.

Face coverings and 6' social distancing will be expected at all Masses. See our web site for more detailed information and stay tuned for further announcements.
Welcoming New Students
Do you know someone who is starting at Western in the Fall, either as a freshman or transfer student? We've created a special page on our web site to introduce our ministry to new students, and invite them to introduce themselves to us. Please pass it along to any student or parent you know who needs to connect with us!

Parking Passes
Catholic Campus Ministry's parking lot is available for student and faculty parking during the fall and spring semesters. We are located within an easy walk from the center of campus and the money raised from parking permits goes directly to help fund our ministry.

We have parking passes available for $150 per semester (or $300 for the year) . Numbers are limited so don't delay. Download the registration form and mail it in with your payment today. As of July 16, we only have 25% of our available permits remaining.
Online Small Groups
Can't wait for the semester to begin to join a small group?

We have two online Bible study groups that are meeting over the summer via Zoom. Both new and returning students are welcome to participate via the below links.
