Keys to Protesting Your Property Tax Valuation

It’s that time of year again. Valuation notices have been mailed and the protest process is beginning. TSSA worked recently with Taylor Vaughan, CMI of Delta Property Tax Advisors to bring you the “Battling Property Taxes: Understanding Your Valuation & How to Protest” webinar. He shared his comprehensive overview of the valuation and protest processes. We summarized some key takeaways in a new blog post.

Did you know that you can check the "Remember Me" box the next time you sign in to txssa.org so you won't have to fuss with finding your password again? We all have SO many passwords these days and keeping up with them all can be stressful, so enable the single-sign-on feature to save your password and forget about it!

A big thank you to those who completed our recent impact survey focusing on how the pandemic has affected your self-storage business. We appreciate that you took the time to help us help you. Some highlights from member responses include:

  • 27% of respondents indicated their biggest challenge was not having enough new customers

  • 43% of respondents saw lower rent collections in April 2020 compared to April 2019

  • 88% of respondents kept personnel levels at normal rates or decreased their staff hours or their number of personnel only slightly in April 2020

Full compiled results to all questions were only sent to those who participated.

We will send a follow-up survey next month. Please help us collect data by participating when you receive it. Respondents will receive a full summary of the survey results.
