NC Chapter of the National Conference of Black Lawyers joined the FOLWCC and over 90 organizations at over 600 polling sites to challenge intimidation and voter suppression across the state of NC ! We were on Zoom and conference calls participating in plans to host SAFE POLLING SITES.

NCBL members at the Raleigh, NC Robert's Recreation Center & Park polling site shared voter protection and political issue education info (Reinvest Police Budgets posters, NCBL literature, etc.), cold water and tea, PPE kits and music to waiting voters.

We engaged many community members in discussions on their issues of their concerns and broader community challenges. Many signed up to learn more about how we as NCBL can work together.

All voters and poll workers were thankful for our presence and sharing.

This was a wonderfully successful voter protection, educational and fundraising event!

NC Public Service Workers Union-UE Local 150, Trawick Downs Neighborhood Organization, National Conference of Black Lawyers -NC Chapt., BWFJ and FOL WCC volunteers gave support and staffed it with political issue literature/info, snacks, cold water and tea, music and fun!

All 17 volunteers helped with "security", programming, networking with and encouraging voters as well as distribution of water, snacks and PPE kits. It was amazing! Some volunteers who were initially scheduled to complete 4 hour shifts, ended up staying 2 or 3 hours longer! We had a great time playing music, throwing out trivia questions to voters in line, doing the electric slide, cupid shuffle, the wobble & biker's shuffle line dances. We also got the word out about the FOLWCC - who we are and what resources we continue to share with the community as well as our upcoming events. Hopefully, future outreach to the new contacts we made will help more community members to become politically active, build community organization and power.

The Coalition of Labor Union Women is urging people of all sexes to post the video -- which features the DC Labor Chorus -- on social media and share it with your members, friends and family. “Our goal is to empower women to be leaders in their community and in the political arena,” said CLUW. “This video is a representation of the journey, one that begins with women’s voices and Women’s Vote.”
