Introduction to Trading and Investing
Are you interested in stock-trading or investing? Or have you ever heard your friends or family speak about the financial markets without a clue in what they're talking about? If so, I have a great opportunity to provide you. This summer, I will be teaching an introductory course for trading and investing.
This course will teach you all the basics to trading and investing. We will have a broad focus on multiple personal/corporate finance topics. Becoming financially literate is one of the single-most important standards for becoming successful in the United States, period.
For the majority of the course, we will be focusing on analytical strategies for stocks. Of course, there is a variety of other financial instruments and systems including options, Foreign Exchange trading (Forex), and more, but we will have a primary focus on stocks.
With many online courses offered by famous Universities and Financial institutions, most, if not all of them, saturate most of their material with an academic perspective on finance with a lesser focus on practical information... For example, most courses will focus on the date, location, and process by which a financial instrument was invented, and have a minimal focus on its practical function and how to trade it! I am not discrediting any such financial courses, but if you want straightforward and practical information, you are going down the right path by signing up for this course!
These are some of the topics that we will be covering in the course:
- The dynamics of the financial markets.
- Technical & Fundamental analysis
- Chart Analysis
- Statistics
- The best strategies for entry/exit on a stock.
- Basics of money management
- Your style (swing/day-trader, etc.)
- Engaging in Entrepreneurial pursuits through investing
- Finding useful & relevant financial information.
- Mental fortitude
Lessons will all be from 10:30am-11:15am on the following dates (all Mondays):
- June 22nd
- June 29th
- July 6th
- July 13th
- July 20th
- July 26th
(Online meeting links + handouts will be distributed via email and you may be notified by text)
If you have any scheduling conflicts, contact me via email or text and we can create arrangements. I will have lecture recordings available for you as well and will post on YouTube for better accessibility in the future!
Thank you so much for your time, and I hope to see you at our first meeting on the 22nd!
