QUARTER NOTES

What a great twelfth year this has been for Bringing Music to Life.
Earlier this month, over 640 band and orchestra instruments were awarded to 44 Colorado schools and music programs, just in time for the 2022-2023 school year. This year we were also fortunate to welcome three new repair partners and to meet some exceptional high school student volunteers who helped move all of the instruments from storage on a day when the temperature in Denver broke a record high. And, for the first time since 2019, we were able to return to the beautiful Newman Center for the instrument presentation. The event included an appreciation for our original and longest running media partner, drawings for three tubas (another record breaking high) and a return performance by a talented young musician and clarinet recipient from one of the earliest instrument drives.

TRUCKLOADS OF THANKS
Mr. Nathan Prismon's music students of Jefferson Jr./Sr. High School volunteered their time and labor on one of their last days before school starts. Their muscle, teamwork and careful handling of the instruments got the hard work of loading and unloading trucks done safely and in record time, but it was their energy, enthusiasm and humor that brought color and fun to moving day.
Special thanks, too, to friends of BMTL, Charlie and Jack Rueschhoff, and Collin Green. Our gratitude and appreciation to these rock star volunteers!

Instrument collection and instrument repair are our equivalent of music lessons and rehearsal. They are our behind the scenes work.
Instrument presentation is our performance. It is both our opening and closing night. It is when everything comes together and the magic of giving instruments to school districts, of getting instruments into the hands of eager children happens!
