March 1, 2021 LCM Agenda
1. Review CSL Bills Being Followed
At Monday's meeting we will review a list of bills for possible CSL positions. We need people to be familiar with the bills as we will be voting on our position of the bills we had on the list last week. If you are the lead on any of these bills please come prepared to update the group on changes. We will also continue to review selection, assignment and following of any new bills.
2. SB 21-118 Alternative Response Mistreatment At-Risk Bill
Concerning the creation of an alternative response pilot program for county departments of human or social services to address a report of mistreatment of an at-risk adult. The bill creates, on or after January 1, 2022, an alternative response pilot program (pilot) that a participating county department can utilize when it receives a report, related to an at-risk adult, of mistreatment or self-neglect, (report) and the report has identified the risk as lower risk, as defined by rules promulgated by the state department of human services (state department) - SB21-118 on General Assembly Website
3. A simple and urgent call To action this week regarding AAA funding
We will be going over a call to action in regard to AAA funding.
4. Good to Know – State to Provide COVID-19 Testing for Legislative Session
2-22-2021 - As the legislature comes back into session, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will provide Abbot Binax rapid tests and testing will be administered by medical professionals for the legislative session.
COVID-19 testing will be available to members of the state legislature, staff, members of the media, and the members of the public who are planning to attend the session in-person. Testing will be conducted twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the 2021 legislative session. While testing is not mandatory to visit the Capitol, it is strongly encouraged.
Remote participation is strongly recommended as it is the safest option for Coloradans.
  • Members of the public can sign up to participate remotely on the General Assembly's website - https://leg.colorado.gov/
  • Testing will be conducted twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the 2021 legislative session from 7:30am-10:30am
  • Testing will be in the State Services Building, 1525 Sherman, Rooms 103 & 104
  • Additional testing will be provided throughout the legislative session on days where there are expected to be heavily attended committee hearings.
5. Are we interested in this? - Emissions Anti-Tampering Bill Concept
this is a new bill and is not in our bill tracking system. Is anyone interested in following this bill dealing with emissions tampering of vehicles in Colorado?
6. Office of Governor Polis – COVID Response Update 2-26-2021

Important COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Update from CCDC
Colorado Cross Disability Coalition (CCDC) is thrilled to announce that that Polis administration, in particular, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing has heard the disability community and has adjusted the vaccine priority list allowing people severely immunocompromised and those who must receive care from others in the home to be included in the priority list.

People with one of these conditions and one already listed will be eligible in phase 1B3 (coming up next) and those with one of these conditions alone will be available in a new phase 1B4 at the end of March.

“I am grateful to our Governor that our community is seen as valuable and has been included as appropriate” said LLoyd Lewis, CCDC Board Co-Chair.

This does not mean that all people with disabilities get vaccinated immediately and CCDC Executive Director, Julie Reiskin cautions that this does not mean a return to normal.
