Spotlight on General School Assistants
You may be curious about whether General School Assistants (GSAs) are being utilized in the virtual setting and what roles they are performing. From providing instruction in small groups to facilitating virtual recess, our students are benefiting from GSAs fulfilling many of the same roles they have in previous years. This week we hear from the students in Ms. Maya Stevens’ 4th grade classroom about what they have appreciated about having GSAs Ms. Gayle, Ms. Johnson and Ms. Kelley in their virtual classes:
Did you know our biggest investment as a PTSA is funding more General School Assistants to help our teachers and students? Funding comes from parents and community members, through direct donations, corporate matching, and opportunities like Amazon Smile and "Give with Bing". Read more about GSAs on the PTSA website!

Participation certificates will be awarded to those who complete at least 10 challenges. We ask parents and students to self-grade these challenges and track completion. Once the last challenge is published in May, we will provide instructions to report participation.

Thank You, G5 Families!
In October 5th Grade families contributed snacks, beverages and hand-made cards to make care packages for Ms. Atia, Ms. Hemker, Ms. Jessa, Mr. Regala, Ms. Tamayo, Ms. Gayle (GSA) and Ms. Schneider (Band/Orchestra).

Together we spread joy to our Most Valuable Partners – our teachers. Thank you for being active in our Comm(Unity)!

“I appreciate the extra effort Cherry Crest Families went to in order to make me feel so special.” – Ms. Tamayo
“I am so humbled and honored. I love CC Chargers.” – Ms. Schneider
PTSA Meeting is Tue, November 10th at 6:45pm
Please join us at our Cherry Crest PTSA General Membership meeting, Tuesday November 10th, via Microsoft Teams. We like all families and community members to participate and you don't need to be a PTSA member to attend

This meeting will start early and be very short, covering only the updated Standing Rules and a few announcements. We are doing this to make time for our first of the year community building event “Grade Level Family Connect”.
