Jubilee Year
The 7th episode of the video on the Testament Letter talks about Christ’s Centralism. Jesus Christ was the great passion of the Founder’s life: “I looked at him and he looked at me, and it seemed that he said many things…”.. It is a dialogue of glimpses of love, which reached the heart of young Conforti, generating in him a thirst for eternal life, not so much as an after and a beyond, but as a present: proclamation to non-Christians, family, universality, donation, total offering, fruitfulness, openness and brotherhood.

Fr. Michael Davitti SX continues weekly Bible Study with participants from Passaic and Hewitt. They are reflecting, through the help of a Powerpoint presentation, on "Original Sin."

“There is No Fear in Love!”

Fr. Michael has written a reflection for Lent and Easter:
"Lent is a time of preparation for renewal through the traditional means of fasting, prayer and almsgiving. These disciplines of Lent are not ends in themselves, but the means by which we prepare for baptism, and its renewal, in the celebration of the Paschal Mystery. Where, “Mystery” stands for unfathomable salvific action of God who comes to the rescue of those who were lost and were unable to come back..." Read more.

Sharing a poem from our friend and neighbor, Tommy Silva.
Lent
Now come the cold days of Lent,
Upon this earth, we pay our rent,
It is by the Eucharist that we are fed,
Cleansed of our sins because Jesus bled,
One step at a time toward our graves we crept,
We live with faithful hope because Jesus wept;
While braiding together the holy psalms
We gain comfort and wisdom in reading the psalms,
The crucifixion of Jesus can never be matched,
For the love of Christ has no strongs attached;
Behold the earth that will be home for the lily,
A prayeful walk, where the sky is blue
and the ground is hilly,
A joyful cardinal's song at sunset, so sweet, so nice,
As we take a measured satisfaction
In our earthly sacrifice.

Pope: True ecumenical dialogue begins with love

Promoting sincere ecumenical dialogue can be achieved only when Christians are committed to loving their neighbors rather than viewing them with doubt or suspicion, Pope Francis said.

In a message sent Feb. 18 at the start of a Lenten campaign sponsored by the Brazilian bishops' conference and Brazil's national council of Christian churches, the pope said the campaign's goal of promoting dialogue and communion with other Christian communities is "a reason for hope." Learn more.

God of Skies, God of Heavens,
God of Day, God of End of Day,
God of Life, God of End of Life,

Let each sunset remind me
that my life on earth is finite.

Life is precious, life in this world
is not forever, life is Your gift,
which is given, and ultimately,
taken away.

My life is what I can make of it:
used well, wasted, treasured,
plodded through, lived to the fullest,
lived for others, lived to honor You.

Life is Your gift to me.
Let me give it back well lived to You,
my God and my Creator.

Help me value each day, each hour,
each minute of my existence.
Let me always see potential for good
even in down times, even in sadness,
even in depression.

Let me always know that You are there,
You are here, and You have given me my life
to make of it what I will, to make of it what I can, before I return it to You
in my final sunset hour.

Ever since ancient times, one Church per day - called a 'statio' - acts as a pilgrimage site for each of the 40 days of Lent. The tradition continues to today, and offers an opportunity to ask for the intercession of the martyrs during our Lenten journey. Meeting in the places where these holy witnesses of faith are buried, the faithful participate in the Eucharist, as we journey toward Calvary. Here are the first 10 Churches.
