Independent Providers Needed
Are you:

  • Willing to serve someone who has been exposed to Covid-19 or is ill with the virus?
  • Available to fill in without much notice?
  • Willing to go to an individual’s home?

As cases have continued to rise, we want to make sure all individuals feel supported and safe during this difficult time. In an effort to plan accordingly, we are developing a crisis team of independent providers who could assist in the event an agency or family does not have the capacity to provide the necessary support.

While assisting an agency, independent providers would be able to bill their typical HPC rate. MCBDD would also be willing to provide full PPE if it is needed.

If you would be willing to assist, please email Courtney Jordan, Provider Relations and Family Support Services Specialist, at courtneyj@mcbdd.org.
Vaccination Draft Plan
On October 22, Governor Mike DeWine's office posted the first draft of the state's vaccination plan, which will be used to form a framework for the distribution of an eventual COVID-19 vaccine.

The draft plan, which the state created in response to federal requests, specifies that the following groups of people will receive priority vaccinations in the following order when a COVID-19 vaccine is eventually deployed en masse:

  • Phase 1(A): High-risk health care workers and first responders.

  • Phase 1(B): Older people in congregate settings or those with severe comorbidities that greatly increase risk to the virus.

  • Phase 2: Essential workers in health care and human services not covered in Phase 1; teachers and school staff; people of all ages with comorbidities that increase risk; all older adults not included in Phase 1; people in homeless shelters; people living in group homes for people with disabilities, mental health issues, or substance abuse issues; and people and staff in jails and detention centers.

  • Phase 3: Young adults, children, and all other essential workers.

  • Phase 4: All Ohio residents not covered in the above phases.
Upcoming Event: Sensory-Friendly Concert
Playhouse Square has announced that they have teamed up with the Cuyahoga Board of DD to conduct a sensory-friendly, virtual concert on Saturday, November 14 at 11:00 a.m. featuring Dan and Claudia Zanes. All are encouraged to join and enjoy the duo's greatest hits, as well as folk and blues classics from their popular new songbook entitled Dan Zane's House Party!: A Family Roots Music Treasury.
