BAIS YAAKOV WISHES FAREWELL TO MRS. ROSSKAMM
The Preschool staff recently bade
farewell to Mrs. Sheera Rosskamm, who has been the preschool office manager for the past 14 years. Mrs. Rosskamm devoted much energy and dedication in support of the preschool staff, students, and administrators, with a sensitive eye to their many needs. We wish her much hatzlacha in her future endeavors and thank her for helping the preschool during years of such significant growth.
PURIM GLOWS IN THE MIDST OF COVID
Here is a glowing and light-filled Purim Music Video to bring everyone into the Purim Ruach 5781- courtesy of Rabbi Stein and Rabbi Sanders!
PURIM - SINGING, JUMPING, AND CLAPPING
In order to preserve the spirit of our annual pre-Purim Bash and yet keep within the dictates of Covid safety with social distancing and masking, we had our girls jumped on mini trampolines to very exciting Purim Music. This is the brainchild of Mrs. Chaya Hoffman, Upper Elementary Limudei Kodesh Coordinator. Kudos to her for a terrific idea. Thank You to Mrs. Ruchama Landa for conducting such a spirited, exciting musical program that was upbeat and invigorating! Enjoy our short video clip!
TU B'SHVAT MOVEMENT PROGRAM
With the recent snowfall, our Pre-nursery and Nursery girls have had much less access to outdoor activities. Nonetheless, they were able to enjoyed a Serene 613 movement activity with Mrs. Rachel Sagal indoors, which provided an opportunity to stretch and do relaxing exercises on colorful mats. The girls also learned about the Shivas HaMinim (the seven fruit species of Eretz Yisroel) with a story and gentle movement.
SIDDUR PLAY 5781
On 2 Sundays, February 14 and 21, after all their hard work – 138 First Graders received their siddurim in front of 20 parents in the auditorium, plus another five hundred family members and friends, who joined us via a live video hookup courtesy of Mr. Tzvi Wygoda. The Siddur Play is a compendium of songs staged by our first graders as a group with individual lines for each child. It provides each girl with an opportunity to shine in front of her peers, parents, and family members.

This year we had each class perform individually, to ensure adherence to Covid safety guidelines. In one instance, a child at home in quarantine was provided with a cape, crown, wristlet, and Siddur while Zooming her into the play. This student was shown on the large screen in the auditorium so she could be part of the siddur play.

The Bais Yaakov Siddur Play is sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Marcel Reischer in memory of Mrs. Eva Reischer, Chava bas Yitzchok Mendel, a”h. We recognize the planning, practice, and attention to detail which all seven Moros, their assistants, music teacher, and support staff have invested in making this moment a memorable one. It is a vivid demonstration of what our students can do with guidance, care and practice!
SECOND GRADE BUDDING ARTISTS AND SCULPTORS
After reading an informational booklet about the different types of artists and the variety of art they create, the second-grade girls became painters, sculptors, potters, and mosaicists. Mrs. Debbie Alper created a dual assignment. The students needed to design an art project, and then they had to write a descriptive paragraph about their art. Mrs. Alper’s students presented magnificent artistry alongside their written descriptive reports about their own project. We are incredibly proud of our students and decorated our school lobby by displaying these examples of their creativity.
MRS. BRECHER'S SECOND GRADE PURIM PLAY IN HEBREW
Second Grade students performed wonderfully in their play this week. Please enjoy this video as it demonstrates how much our children can accomplish with persistence and guidance! Special kudos to Morah Rivky Brecher for putting it all together and giving your daughters confidence in themselves. The girls were able to feel a sense of pride in their own capabilities. It is an example of the care and concern Mrs. Brecher gives to help build each child's sense of self. Moreover, they learned about Purim and were able to express themselves in Lashon HaKodesh.
