NEWS AND EVENTS
Dear Serra Parents and Guardians,

It has been a very smooth transition with our upperclassmen joining the blue cohort for in-person instruction this week. Beginning Monday, we will welcome back all students to campus daily for the remainder of the semester.

We feel so fortunate to bring our entire student population to end this academic year together as Padres. We are grateful to faculty, staff and the families of our Padres who continue to progressive move forward together as one Padre community.

Seniors and parents of seniors should expect to receive a detailed email next week that will highlight the graduation events that are scheduled for May. Please pay close attention to the information in this e-newsletter regarding the senior lunch and also content needed for each senior page in this year's yearbook. Submissions for the yearbook are due May 14. More information is listed below.

Sincerely,

Charlie McGrath

Yearbook Submissions Needed From Senior Families for Free Ad Pages

This year the yearbook staff wants to offer something unique to each graduate in recognition of the ever-changing year they have experienced. Instead of offering paid senior ads in the back of the book, the students on staff are highlighting each senior in the senior portrait section. We are asking each family to submit photos of their graduate and to send in a message to their senior that they will see when they receive their last Serra Yearbook. Please look at the options below, upload any photos you would like shown. Please note that the larger the file size, the higher the resolution when we print. We welcome you to write a message to your graduate, and please keep the message to 50 words or less to ensure the font is large enough to read.

Students on the yearbook staff are hoping to have a 100 percent participation from all senior families! All submissions must be received by May 14, 2021 in order to be included in the yearbook.
Summer at Serra!
Serra is open for summer! Families can register now for Serra Swim School, Serra Children's Sports and Recreation Camp, Serra Summer School, Padre Rowing Camp and Peninsula Wrestling Clinics. Each program has been carefully reimagined to ensure a high quality, in-person experience while offering a safe and supportive environment with COVID-smart protocols approved by the San Mateo County Health Department.

Under the guidance of a dedicated and fully certified staff, Serra Swim School is offering small group and private lessons in two-week sessions at Serra's beautiful, sunbathed aquatics facility.
The Children's Sports and Recreation Camp, a Serra staple of summer fun for more than 50 years, is offering all-day sessions for youngsters entering grades one through seven.

This year's academic summer school includes the Freshman Bridge Program, which is designed especially for incoming Serra freshmen who can benefit from a review/preview in English, math, and science. Geometry for Advancement and Honors Geometry for Advancement also are offered along with high school courses in English, math, science, and Spanish devised for remediation.

Padre Rowing Camp has three one-week camps scheduled in July. The camps provide an introduction to competitive high school sweep rowing for prospective student-athletes with little or no experience in the sport. Padre Rowing Camp is located at the Bair Island Aquatic Center in Redwood City.

Peninsula Wrestling Clinics use a game-centered approach to introduce the sport of wrestling to boys and girls ages 5 to 12. One-week sessions are scheduled during the month of June.
