Dear Hall County Providers, We hope this newsletter finds you doing well. It has been an unpredictable and trying few months since March. Since we have all been so isolated, United Way of Hall County and Gainesville Housing Authority decided to start this newsletter in hopes that we can keep each other up to date on the resources currently being provided in Hall County. We will highlight agencies each week. This information is being provided to us by the survey that went out earlier in September. Pathways Transitional Program, Inc. is now providing services in Hall County. Pathways services include
- Counseling & Psychotherapy
- Psychiatric Services
- Group Counseling
- IFI
- Diagnostic & Assessment Services
- DFCS & DJJ Contracted Provider
- Behavioral Aid Services
- School Based Support
Services are provided to children and their families, adults and groups.
Pathways accepts Medicaid, Well Care, CareSource, Peach Care for Kids, Enpatico, Tricare, Amerigroup, Cigna, Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia. If you don’t have health insurance, Pathways offers out of pocket rates. They also have some limited sliding scale fee appointments.

UNG: UNG's Dahlonega campus is offering free tax preparation services to those who make $57,000 or less per year. Community members who schedule an appointment will receive assistance from students pursuing accounting and finance degrees as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the IRS.
The free services are open by appointment from 4-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 2 to March 2. The sessions are located in room 011 of the Newton Oakes Center on the Dahlonega campus.

The purpose of the Connector is to support UNG’s mission to provide a student focused environment that includes quality education, service, inquiry, and creativity. The Connector builds relationships between the community organizations serving UNG’s five campus area with our faculty and staff. The Connector is a streamlined, efficient way for community organizations to request specific types of assistance from UNG’s faculty, staff, and students.
The Connector matches specific organizational needs to the resources within UNG, based on availability and ability. For example, a local nonprofit organization building a new program needs help creating new marketing material. The nonprofit organization could submit a request to the Connector to be matched with faculty and staff that may be interested in developing such material as an in-class project or faculty service opportunity.
Organizations are encouraged to sign up if they have a specific project in mind, or if the organization would just like to be considered for future collaboration opportunities with UNG. To register with the Connector please visit http://go.ung.edu/communityconnector. The link will ask you whether you have a specific project idea or if you would just like to submit your information for future consideration. A short, five-minute survey will then request general organization information.

Hall County Family Connection Network’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Annaliza Thomas as Executive Director on February 16. With Annaliza on board, HCFCN plans to commence with The Collaborative meetings, starting on April 8th at noon, and then continuing every other month. We will start with a Zoom format and return to our in-person meetings when it is safe for everyone. Annaliza’s contact info: hcfcn.director@gmail.com, 770-569-3790. Annaliza Thomas is an experienced nonprofit program administrator and leader. Previously, Annaliza was the Director of Community Outreach at TCSG’s Office of Adult Education. As the Community Outreach director, Annaliza provided program support and technical assistance to adult and family literacy organizations throughout the state. organizations. Prior to her role with the TCSG, Annaliza worked for the Peace Corps as the global literacy specialist. Annaliza has experience working with local literacy organizations as well. From 2011 to 2015, Annaliza was the executive director of Forsyth County’s Certified Literate Community Program. In this role, Annaliza worked with the local CLCP’s board of directors and community partners to organize and provide adult and family literacy classes to the community.
Annaliza graduated from the University of Georgia with her BS in Social Science Education and her BA in Political Science. Annaliza earned her MA in Service, Leadership and Management from the School for International Training in Vermont. Since 2004, she has lived in Belize, California, Vermont, the Philippines and Maryland. Currently, Annaliza lives in Gainesville with her husband Randall and two sons Ethan (11) and Elijah (4).
